Pantone™ PMS 7427 C

Safety and VOC requirements when using PMS 7427 C paint depend on the product format you choose. Always review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) provided with the product for information about handling, ventilation, protective equipment, and disposal. VOC levels, flammability, and ventilation needs can differ between spray paint, liquid coatings, and other formats. Follow all label directions and local regulations for safe application of any PMS 7427 C paint product.

One spray can of PMS 7427 C will cover about 20 to 25 square feet per coat on smooth, non-porous surfaces. However, PMS 7427 C is a deep, saturated red with a low LRV, so additional coats may be needed for full hide, especially over light or high-contrast surfaces. Actual coverage depends on surface texture, application method, and total number of coats required for uniform color appearance. For best results, plan for extra paint and test coverage on your actual substrate before starting your full project.

PMS 7427 C is often chosen for fabricated signs, displays, and exhibits because its Pantone code defines a consistent color target for brand visibility and recognition. Brand standards may require strict adherence to PMS 7427 C for visual alignment across materials and production runs. When fabricating elements, testing PMS 7427 C on the actual substrate and under intended lighting helps confirm that color, gloss, and saturation meet visual brand requirements. Sampling is strongly recommended before committing to large-scale production.

When PMS 7427 C is specified as a brand color, order a small paint sample in the required finish and apply it to the actual substrate you plan to use. Evaluate the color under the lighting conditions of the final installation. This approach allows stakeholders to sign off on the appearance before full production, reducing the risk of brand approval issues or costly rework. Sampling is especially important for PMS 7427 C, as high-saturation colors can shift in appearance based on surface and finish.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
