PMS 9441 C is a standardized hue within the Pantone PMS system, used in applications demanding brand consistency and controlled color communication. This color presents a light, clean, and technical vibe, with a noticeably cool impression and restrained saturation. The color is frequently sought for environments needing a subtle yet distinctly branded blue, especially where clarity and visibility under various lighting conditions are important.
PMS 9441 C displays a high lightness level (LRV 70.01), resulting in a color that appears visually pale and airy. The color is distinctly cool, anchored by a blue hue angle near 225, making it feel crisp and reserved. Saturation is present but moderate, preventing the blue from feeling overly bold or vivid. Undertones in this color remain neutral to slightly violet-blue, minimizing any overpowering warmth. PMS 9441 C is sensitive to finish; glossier finishes can increase perceived brightness and visual sharpness, while matte finishes may soften the color's clarity.
PMS 9441 C is well suited to situations where a visibly light, cool blue is needed to support brand presence without overwhelming adjacent colors or graphics. It performs best on smooth, well-prepared substrates to maintain clean color presentation. In environments with varying light sources, anticipate subtle shifts in the perceived temperature of the blue, especially under warm ambient lighting where the coolness may recede. Compared to darker or more chromatic PMS blues, PMS 9441 C maintains a lighter, less saturated effect, making it operationally suitable for large surface areas or spaces demanding a non-dominant but brand-specific blue signature.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

When using PMS 9441 C for prototypes or concept models, select a paint format that matches your project scale, such as spray paint or brush-in-cap bottles. Reference a physical Pantone guide alongside your painted sample to verify visual alignment, since PMS 9441 C is defined by the Pantone standard, not a formula. Evaluate your prototype under the same lighting and finish conditions as the final application to ensure the cool, light blue appearance of PMS 9441 C is maintained. This helps avoid mismatches due to finish choice or lighting shifts, which can affect perceived color temperature and brightness.
For brand approval of PMS 9441 C, order a small sample in the intended paint format and finish, and apply it to the actual substrate you plan to use. Compare the sample directly to a physical Pantone reference under the lighting conditions of the final space. Given PMS 9441 C's lightness and sensitivity to finish, confirm that both brightness and color temperature match expectations before moving to full production or installation.
PMS 9441 C is a light, cool blue with moderate saturation. On high-contrast or dark substrates, applying a white or light-colored undercoat can improve coverage and uniformity. Plan for at least two coats of PMS 9441 C to achieve the intended look, especially for large or high-visibility surfaces. Evaluating coverage on a test area first will help ensure consistent results and proper hide before proceeding with the entire project.
PMS 9441 C is primarily selected for technical brand environments, display elements, and concept models. If considering this color for your project, compare its appearance on physical Pantone samples and test paint applications to verify it fulfills your brand alignment requirements. Always reference authoritative Pantone guides for any specific brand associations before making final decisions, as color use can vary across industries.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
