PMS 9084 C is a Pantone PMS color identified within the Pantone Matching System and used as a standardized visual reference rather than a paint formula. It conveys a restrained, earthy, yellow-green character with a calm, practical, and low-key visual presence.

The color reads as a midtone with an LRV of 42.19 and shows a warm-to-neutral tendency with a yellow-leaning green bias. It presents low chroma, giving it a subdued appearance, and carries a soft olive undertone that can shift with lighting.

This color works well in environments where brand alignment calls for a muted green that avoids high visual energy. It can appear more yellow under warm lighting and slightly greener under cooler light, making lighting evaluation important when visual accuracy matters.

Similar colors:

Pantone 577 C: lighter and warmer, with a more pronounced yellow cast.
Pantone 580 C: lighter and more open, with less olive depth.
Pantone 7495 C: darker and slightly more neutral, with reduced yellow presence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 9084 C

Why does Pantone PMS 9084 C sometimes appear different on various materials or substrates?

The appearance of Pantone PMS 9084 C can differ across materials because each substrate absorbs, reflects, and interacts with paint differently. Variables like texture, sheen, and porosity may cause the color to look lighter, darker, glossier, or duller. For final approval, always evaluate PMS 9084 C on the actual material and finish planned for your project to ensure it meets your brand and visual standards.

How much area does one spray can of Pantone PMS 9084 C typically cover, and how can I estimate the amount needed?

One spray can of Pantone PMS 9084 C generally covers about 20 to 25 square feet per coat on a smooth, primed surface. Actual coverage depends on application method, surface texture, color intensity, and how many coats are applied. For best results, estimate the total project area, consider multiple coats for uniform color, and round up to allow for test sprays and surface differences.

Can Pantone PMS 9084 C be used to touch up existing painted surfaces to achieve a perfect match?

Pantone PMS 9084 C is not recommended for touch up work on existing surfaces. The Pantone PMS system specifies color, not the sheen or original substrate conditions, so using it for touch up will rarely deliver an invisible repair. For best results, use PMS 9084 C as a target for new builds, displays, or brand projects, not for matching aged or different coatings.

What are the steps to order paint matched to Pantone PMS 9084 C on MyPerfectColor?

Check that you have chosen the correct format (spray paint, bottle, etc) for your application. Confirm your selections, add to cart, and follow the checkout instructions. Can I use the Pantone PMS 9084 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
