PMS 8765 C is a Pantone PMS metallic gold with a dark, weighted appearance and a restrained sheen that reads rich rather than bright. It conveys a formal, substantial, and traditional visual character often associated with established brand identities.
The color appears dark with an LRV of 11.86 and reads warm with a gold-forward tendency. Its metallic saturation is controlled rather than vivid, with a subdued yellow-bronze undertone that can shift based on lighting and finish.
PMS 8765 C works well when a grounded metallic gold is needed instead of a bright or highly reflective look. Because metallic finishes can highlight surface texture, smooth preparation and consistent application help achieve a uniform result, particularly on large branded elements.
Similar colors:
Pantone 871 C: lighter and brighter, with a more reflective metallic gold appearance.
Pantone 872 C: slightly lighter and warmer, with increased yellow clarity.
Pantone 874 C: darker and more bronze, with reduced gold brightness.

PMS 8765 C paint is formulated to target the official Pantone reference, but actual appearance can vary depending on finish, sheen, and substrate. Pantone books are standardized on specific paper types and finishes, while paint samples may look different on metal, plastic, or wood. Before full production, it is recommended to sample PMS 8765 C paint on your intended material and under your project lighting. This helps confirm visual alignment with the Pantone book and ensures brand consistency in real-world conditions.
Ordering a standard Pantone match for PMS 8765 C is appropriate when the primary goal is visual brand consistency with Pantone specifications. Common scenarios include marketing events, exhibit components, displays, or prototypes where PMS 8765 C is the brand target. If your project needs the color for logo backgrounds or branded environments not involving repair or existing finishes, a Pantone match is the right choice.
If you are creating prototypes or concept models and want accurate brand color representation, specify PMS 8765 C as your color target. Choose a paint format that suits your substrate and prototyping needs, such as spray paint or brush-in-cap bottles. Plan to evaluate samples on your actual model materials before making large orders, since finish and material can affect how PMS 8765 C is perceived versus printed references.
Coverage per spray can of PMS 8765 C depends on surface texture, application method, and number of coats. On smooth, primed surfaces, a typical spray can covers approximately 20 square feet per coat. Metallic and saturated Pantone colors like PMS 8765 C may require additional coats for full hide, so plan for extra material on projects needing solid, uniform color. Testing a sample can on your material first helps estimate total quantity needed.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 8765 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
