PMS 8063 C is a metallic color from the Pantone PMS collection, distinguished by its bold, saturated red hue and a pronounced luminous metallic effect. The color registers as energetic, attention-grabbing, modern, and technical with a clear, warm undertone and medium-dark appearance. It is often selected for its striking appearance and strong visual presence in environments demanding high-impact color fidelity.

- PMS 8063 C appears as a strong, medium-dark metallic red. - The color has a pronounced warmth, leaning toward an intense red with a slight orange bias. - This color is highly saturated, contributing to its vibrancy and visibility. - PMS 8063 C exhibits a clear warm undertone, without prominent neutrality or coolness. - The metallic formulation gives the color a shimmering, reflective character, directly influenced by lighting angles and finish type. - With an LRV of 19.27, PMS 8063 C is relatively dark and may impact perceived brightness depending on adjacent colors or surfaces. - The metallic finish is sensitive to surface preparation and application technique, and may highlight imperfections.

- PMS 8063 C is specified for display fabrication and branded installations where a metallic red is required. - This color is used in marketing environments and prototyping to convey energy and draw attention.

PMS 8063 C is best used where a vivid, metallic red with high visual impact is needed, such as branded displays, event graphics, or product prototypes. Proper surface preparation and application technique are critical due to the metallic finish, which can magnify surface imperfections and influence uniformity. Lighting conditions and viewing angles also affect appearance—testing a sample is recommended under final site lighting. Compared to similar saturated metallic reds, PMS 8063 C reads as especially warm and vibrant, with slightly less darkness than deeper metallic reds and more chroma than standard, non-metallic reds.

Similar colors:
PMS 485 C – A standard, non-metallic red; less vibrant and without the metallic shimmer of PMS 8063 C.

PMS 186 C – A darker, more neutral red; less saturated and not metallic.

PMS 877 C – A metallic silver; cooler and neutral, lacking the red chroma and warmth.

PMS 805 C – A fluorescent red; brighter and more neon, lacking the metallic effect and slightly cooler in tone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 8063 C

What challenges should I expect when ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 8063 C?

Pantone PMS 8063 C is a bold, metallic and highly saturated red. Accurately matching these types of Pantone colors in paint can be difficult because metallic effects, saturation, and color depth are influenced by factors like lighting, substrate, and application technique. MyPerfectColor specializes in creating the closest possible visual match to PMS 8063 C for brand and display use, but some variation is normal when translating a print or digital color to paint, especially with complex finishes like metallic. Testing a sample under your actual lighting is recommended for brand-critical applications.

How long does it take to produce paint matched to Pantone PMS 8063 C?

All paint for Pantone PMS 8063 C is made to order to achieve the closest visual match. Typical production lead times depend on the paint format you choose and current order volume. Most spray paint and small batch orders ship within a few business days, but specialty formats or larger quantities may require additional time. For event-driven or brand rollout schedules, plan ahead and contact customer service to confirm current lead times for PMS 8063 C.

Can I convert Pantone PMS 8063 C to a standard color from another paint company?

Pantone PMS 8063 C is a unique metallic red that does not have a reliable equivalent in other paint brands' palettes. Cross-references are rarely exact, especially for vivid or metallic Pantone colors. Ordering paint specifically matched to PMS 8063 C ensures you stay true to your brand color requirements rather than risking differences from attempted conversions.

What undercoat or coverage steps are recommended for painting with Pantone PMS 8063 C?

Pantone PMS 8063 C is a highly saturated, metallic shade that may require an appropriate undercoat and multiple coats for best coverage and uniformity. Light or neutral primers are usually recommended to improve color consistency and hide, especially over dark or uneven surfaces. Proper surface preparation is critical, as metallic finishes can highlight imperfections. Plan for extra paint and time to achieve even, brand-accurate results with PMS 8063 C.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 8063 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 8063 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 8063 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
