PMS 807 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS), a standardized color collection used in professional brand, marketing, and display contexts. The color presents as a bold, vivid magenta with noticeable fluorescent qualities. The overall vibe of PMS 807 C is striking, contemporary, energetic, and visually demanding, making it suitable for scenarios where immediate visual recognition or attention is a key goal.

PMS 807 C appears strongly saturated and highly chromatic. The color bias is cool due to its dominant magenta tone. It exhibits a pronounced fluorescent undertone, enhancing visual intensity under appropriate lighting conditions. Lightness is moderate to low, with an LRV of 17.59, contributing to its depth and strength. The color is highly finish-sensitive; gloss or lighting will significantly amplify its vibrancy, while matte finishes can reduce perceived intensity.

PMS 807 C should be specified when a highly conspicuous, unmissable color signal is needed in branding, wayfinding, or temporary marketing installations. Color appearance is highly contingent on substrate, finish, and lighting; plan to view a physical reference and paint sample in the intended environment before finalizing production. Compared to similar colors, PMS 807 C will appear more fluorescent and visually assertive; coverage may require additional coats, especially over contrasting base substrates, due to pigment characteristics.

Similar colors:
PMS 806 C: Lighter and even more fluorescent, resulting in higher radiance but reduced depth.

PMS 219 C: Less chromatic, offering a cooler and more subdued magenta.

PMS 226 C: Darker and deeper, with less fluorescence and more neutral visual weight.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 807 C

What should I know about paint coverage when using Pantone PMS 807 C for branding or display projects?

Pantone PMS 807 C is a highly saturated, fluorescent magenta. These properties mean it may provide less hide than more conventional colors, so achieving a fully uniform finish often requires multiple coats. For best results and accurate brand consistency, plan for at least two coats and consider applying a suitable primer underneath, especially if painting over contrasting or porous substrates. Testing a sample in your intended environment is recommended before committing to production.

Do I need a primer before painting with PMS 807 C matched paint?

Primer use for PMS 807 C depends on the substrate and paint type. Priming is recommended when painting over bare, porous, dark, or uneven surfaces, or when maximum color vibrancy and adhesion are required. On clean, previously coated, light-colored surfaces, a primer may not always be necessary but can help with color consistency and coverage, especially for a fluorescent hue like PMS 807 C. Review your substrate and project requirements to decide, and consult specific primer guidelines as needed.

What are the challenges of matching Pantone PMS 807 C across different materials?

Matching a bright, fluorescent color like Pantone PMS 807 C can be challenging because its appearance is highly sensitive to the substrate, finish, and lighting. Even with professionally matched paint, slight variations may occur compared to Pantone swatches, especially across different surfaces. MyPerfectColor specializes in achieving the best possible match for PMS 807 C, but always test a sample on your actual material and environment to confirm visual alignment before full production.

What should I do to prep metal or powder coated parts before applying PMS 807 C paint?

Proper preparation is important when applying PMS 807 C to metal or powder-coated surfaces. Clean and scuff the substrate to ensure good adhesion and smooth out any surface inconsistencies. Existing gloss can affect how PMS 807 C appears, especially due to its fluorescent nature. It is strongly advised to test a sample on your actual part to confirm both appearance and film integrity before proceeding with the entire project.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 807 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 807 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 807 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 807 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
