PMS 226 C belongs to the Pantone PMS collection, which is widely used for standardized color specification in brand identity and marketing materials. The visual character of this color is bold, eye-catching, saturated, expressive, and energetic. PMS 226 C is frequently used for prominent brand touchpoints where intense color visibility and consistency are critical.
PMS 226 C presents as a dark, highly saturated magenta with a vivid appearance. The color has a pronounced cool tendency with blue undertones. The chroma is very high, contributing to the color’s intense vibrancy. The undertone is distinctly cool, bordering on fuchsia rather than true red or purple. The color can appear deeper or more muted in lower light and finish selections can affect perceived brightness and saturation. The LRV of 14.54 indicates low reflectance, so the color reads dark in application and may absorb light.
PMS 226 C is often used in branding for marketing activations, pop-up displays, and retail environments where visual impact is essential. This color is sometimes selected for sport or entertainment brand accents requiring differentiation and memorability.
PMS 226 C works well when high color intensity and brand distinctiveness are required, especially in controlled lighting. Due to its low LRV and high chroma, it may require multiple coats for full uniform coverage and may appear darker on matte finishes and more vibrant on gloss. Evaluate the color under the specific lighting and finish conditions of intended use. Compared to similar magentas, PMS 226 C is notably cooler and darker, making it suitable for graphics that need to stand out without venturing into lighter pinks or warmer reds.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

To accurately compare Pantone PMS 226 C samples, always evaluate the paint color using a physical Pantone reference and allow all coatings to fully dry and cure before making a decision. Review samples under consistent lighting and on the intended substrate, as color appearance can shift based on both factors. This is especially important for saturated colors like PMS 226 C, which can look different in various finishes or lighting conditions. Testing in the intended environment ensures the final approved color aligns with brand expectations.
When selecting Pantone PMS 226 C paint, choose an interior or exterior paint format based on where the color will be displayed. For indoor brand activations, prototypes, or display work, interior paint will provide suitable results. For outdoor signs, exhibits, or marketing displays exposed to weather, specify an exterior-rated product for durability. Since PMS 226 C is highly saturated and dark, expect that full coverage may require multiple coats. Always verify the paint type matches your environment and performance needs before ordering.

Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
