PMS 629 C

PMS 629 C is part of the Pantone PMS collection and is characterized by a light, clear, and fresh blue appearance. The color presents a crisp, understated, and technical vibe, making it suitable for environments and objects demanding a visually clean and accessible impression. This color provides reliable brand consistency for applications demanding visual precision and clarity.

PMS 629 C is visually light, supported by a reflectance value (LRV) of 64.07. The color exhibits a cool tendency, leaning towards blue in its undertone. PMS 629 C has low-to-moderate saturation, giving it a gentle and soft appearance without strong chromaticity. The color reveals a subtle bluish undertone, avoiding significant green or gray influence. PMS 629 C can display minor finish sensitivity; glossier finishes may enhance its brightness and increase perceived saturation, while matte finishes may subdue its vibrancy.

PMS 629 C is operationally effective in projects requiring a light blue that remains visually clean and avoids green or teal shifts. It performs consistently in branding, exhibit, and display applications where color accuracy against Pantone standards is critical. When specifying PMS 629 C, evaluate the color on the intended substrate using a painted sample, as lighting and finish can alter the perception of the color. Differences from adjacent light blue shades may appear more pronounced under daylight or high-CRI lighting; careful review ensures brand alignment and reduces risk of unintended shifts in visual presentation.

PMS 630 C – Deeper and more chromatic, conveying a bolder and more saturated blue impression.

PMS 642 C – Cooler and more neutral, with increased grayness and less visible chroma.

PMS 5523 C – More muted and with a subtle green cast, creating a softer and less crisp appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 629 C

Can I substitute Pantone PMS 629 C with a similar color from another paint brand?

Pantone PMS 629 C is part of a standardized color system, but most major paint brands use their own unique color palettes and formulas. There is no direct conversion between Pantone PMS 629 C and other brands. Attempting to cross-reference increases the risk of color mismatch, especially for branding applications where precision is critical. For best results, specify and order paint labeled as matching Pantone PMS 629 C and request a sample on your actual substrate for review.

What should I consider when using Pantone PMS 629 C paint on metal or powder-coated surfaces?

For metal or powder-coated surfaces, preparation is essential for an accurate appearance of Pantone PMS 629 C. Clean and scuff the surface to promote adhesion, and note that existing gloss or coatings may influence the final look. Differences in finish can affect perceived brightness and color. Always test Pantone PMS 629 C on your actual part before proceeding to full production to confirm the look meets your project needs under real-world lighting.

How can I best use Pantone PMS 629 C in prototypes and concept models for brand alignment?

Pantone PMS 629 C is suitable for prototypes and concept models that require visual alignment with brand standards. Choose the paint format that matches your workflow, such as spray paint or paint pens. Before committing to production, create a sample on the same material as your model and review it under your intended display lighting. This helps confirm that the color matches expectations and supports brand consistency from early-stage concepts through to final fabrication.

What is the recommended way to apply Pantone PMS 629 C spray paint for display or branding use?

To achieve a smooth and consistent finish with Pantone PMS 629 C spray paint, apply several thin coats rather than a single heavy layer. Allow enough flash or drying time between coats so the paint does not run or sag. This approach helps achieve even coverage and the most accurate color appearance for branding and display projects. Reviewing the result under your planned lighting is recommended before project sign-off.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 629 C?

Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 629 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
