PMS 622 C in the Pantone PMS system is a muted, cool, grayish-green that projects a technical and understated appearance. This color typically reads as soft, clean, calm, and utilitarian, lending itself to applications where a subtle but coherent brand presence is required. With a relatively light reflectance value, it occupies a space between pale green and soft blue-gray and is generally used to provide a sense of calmness or neutrality in a brand palette.
PMS 622 C appears light with an LRV of 60.3. The color has a strong cool tendency, with a green-blue undertone that is subdued by visible gray. This color exhibits low to moderate saturation, resulting in a softened or desaturated look. The undertone is distinctly cool and leans more toward green than blue, but with substantial gray, yielding a misty, gentle effect. PMS 622 C may be sensitive to surface finish; higher gloss finishes can amplify subtle color shifts and increase apparent saturation.
PMS 622 C works well in branding scenarios that require a restrained, modern, and technical impression without visual dominance. It is suitable for backgrounds, environmental branding, and secondary graphics, especially in sectors where clarity and subtlety are important. When specifying this color, evaluate under intended lighting conditions; fluorescent or cool LED lighting can accentuate its greenish cast, while warm lighting will mute its bluish aspect further. Compared to other muted greens or blue-greens, PMS 622 C tends to hold its subtlety and rarely appears overly saturated, making it less prone to visual fatigue in large applications.
Similar colors:
PMS 621 C: Lighter and slightly less saturated, presenting a paler, more neutral appearance.
PMS 623 C: Slightly darker and with increased gray, resulting in a deeper, more industrial look.
PMS 5575 C: Warmer and greener, with less visible gray, so it reads more as a soft sage rather than a blue-gray.

The perceived color and impact of Pantone PMS 622 C can change significantly based on the chosen finish. Gloss or high-sheen finishes tend to increase apparent saturation and can make subtle color shifts more visible, causing PMS 622 C to look slightly deeper or more vibrant. Satin and matte finishes will soften its appearance, emphasizing its muted, grayish-green qualities and minimizing glare. Be aware that finish selection is a key decision for brand consistency, since gloss may intensify the color while matte will keep it more subdued. Always evaluate the color sample in the expected finish and lighting to ensure the result matches your brand goals.
For PMS 622 C, applying multiple light coats is the best practice rather than one thick coat. Each thin layer should be allowed time to dry before adding the next. This method helps achieve an even, smooth appearance and reduces the risk of runs or uneven saturation. Because paint coverage varies with light or muted colors like PMS 622 C, patience with several coats ensures consistent brand color representation across display and fabricated pieces.
Pantone PMS 622 C, like other Pantone colors, can appear different depending on material, lighting, and finish. Achieving a visually consistent match requires precise formulation and color control, especially on different substrates. MyPerfectColor uses specialized processes to accurately match PMS 622 C to the Pantone standard, but some variation may still occur between different materials or gloss levels. If exact alignment across multiple substrates is critical, test samples and evaluate them in the intended environment before full production.
Specifying a standard Pantone PMS 622 C match is the correct approach for brand-facing displays, signage, exhibit components, prototypes, and marketing installations aiming for the Pantone reference as the visual color target. A standard PMS match is appropriate when the project goal is strong visual alignment with brand specifications, and when minor variations due to material or finish are acceptable. For high-stakes or permanent environments, it may be preferable to confirm with samples on the actual substrate under real lighting conditions.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 622 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
