PMS 572 C is part of the Pantone Matching System (Pantone PMS) collection, which is widely used for precise brand, marketing, and environmental design color specification. The color presents a light, clean, and distinctly cool mint green vibe, characterized by a subtle and non-intrusive appearance. Useful for brand experiences that emphasize clarity, freshness, and visual consistency across materials and display formats.

PMS 572 C appears as a very light, pastel green with a cool and refreshing tone. The color has a light reflectance value (LRV) of 66.01, indicating it is notably light and will reflect a considerable amount of ambient light. PMS 572 C displays a cool temperature, leaning toward blue-green rather than yellow-green. The saturation is moderate, giving the color a recognizable mint presence without approaching vividness or neon intensity. The undertone is soft aqua, with an absence of warmth or significant yellow influence. PMS 572 C can be finish-sensitive; gloss finishes may intensify its coolness, while matte or flat finishes may render it more subdued.

PMS 572 C is best applied where a clean, soft, and easily recognizable green accent is required for brands, displays, or prototype environments. It performs well where visual freshness and clarity are desired, such as in exhibit cabinetry, retail elements, or feature walls. The color may shift slightly in perception under different lighting conditions—especially under warm or mixed light—so on-site sample evaluation is recommended. As a light pastel, PMS 572 C delivered in lower-hiding paint systems may require attentive surface prep and potentially multiple coats to achieve uniform appearance, especially over darker substrates. Compared to other Pantone greens, this color maintains a noticeably lighter and less saturated quality.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 572 C

Why is licensed reproduction important when ordering Pantone PMS 572 C paint?

Pantone PMS 572 C is a standardized color defined by Pantone as part of their internationally recognized system for brand, marketing, and display specifications. Licensed reproduction matters because only authorized providers are permitted access to the official Pantone standards needed for accurate color formulation. MyPerfectColor is authorized by Pantone to reproduce PMS 572 C in paint, meaning orders reference the original color definitions, not unofficial approximations. This ensures brand consistency, especially when PMS 572 C is specified as a critical branding element for displays, signage, or prototype fabrication.

When should I use a primer before applying Pantone PMS 572 C paint?

Primer use with Pantone PMS 572 C depends on the substrate, chosen paint type, and your project requirements. A primer is strongly recommended if you are painting uncoated, porous, or glossy surfaces to promote adhesion and uniform appearance. Because PMS 572 C is a very light pastel shade, primer is also advised over dark or contrasting substrates to ensure coverage and color accuracy. Select a primer compatible with your paint format and intended surface. For optimal results, review the substrate and exposure details, and refer to primer guidance resources or contact MyPerfectColor for advice on your application.

What should I expect regarding durability when using Pantone PMS 572 C in spray paint?

Durability of Pantone PMS 572 C spray paint depends on the specific paint system, surface preparation, and exposure conditions. For best performance, always apply PMS 572 C over a properly prepared and primed surface. If you require enhanced resistance to abrasion, moisture, or outdoor conditions, consider compatible clear topcoat options suited to your environment. For projects where PMS 572 C will be handled frequently or exposed to the elements, select a spray paint product appropriate for those demands and confirm details with MyPerfectColor if uncertain. Always test under actual conditions when durability is critical to your installation.

Can I use the Pantone PMS 572 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
