It is often perceived as bright, modern, and technical, making it practical for professional environments where clarity and distinction are important.
PMS 3242 C appears relatively light in value, with an LRV of 58.47. The color presents a cool tonal tendency, attributed to its blue-green base. PMS 3242 C shows moderate to high saturation, giving it a vivid and noticeable quality. The color’s visual impact can shift with finish; gloss may enhance vibrancy, while matte could mute its brightness.

PMS 3242 C is suitable when a clearly defined, memorable color is needed for branded visual assets or environments. It generally maintains its hue well under various lighting, but appearance can shift based on finish and surface type. Surface preparation is important for even coverage, as lighter, more saturated hues can show substrate differences or require additional coats for uniformity. When evaluating, compare finished samples under the intended lighting and finish against a physical Pantone reference.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Pantone PMS 3242 C is defined by the Pantone Matching System, which sets a standardized color target for brand and design use. Most paint brands use their own unique color palettes that are developed independently from Pantone. Vivid colors like PMS 3242 C are rarely reproduced exactly in other brand lines, and small differences in formulation or pigment can make visual alignment challenging. Cross-references between collections are often inexact, so you should always use the Pantone PMS code and compare painted samples to a physical Pantone reference to achieve the closest possible result for brand-critical work.
Paint matched to Pantone PMS 3242 C is made to order, not stocked. Production lead time usually depends on the paint format you select (such as spray paint, paint pen, or house paint) and on current order volume. For most standard orders, expect lead times of several business days before shipping. If you have an urgent marketing or display deadline, confirm availability and lead times for your product type before placing your order.
To avoid ordering the wrong target, always specify the full Pantone code 'PMS 3242 C' exactly as required by your brand standard. The code '3242 C' refers to a specific color in the Pantone Matching System and distinguishes it from other versions (such as U for uncoated or other series). Relying only on a color name or omitting the suffix can result in a different color being supplied. Always double-check the code against your specification and confirm the required finish or product format before ordering.
Ordering a standard Pantone PMS 3242 C paint match is appropriate for most branding, display, exhibit, and prototype applications where visual accuracy to the Pantone reference matters most. This approach supports brand consistency and high-impact marketing visuals on signage, displays, or concept models. If your project will be reviewed for branding precision, always compare painted samples to a physical Pantone reference under your intended lighting and finish. For highly critical, multi-material, or permanently installed projects, consider validating a sample before full production.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
