PMS 5473 C is part of the Pantone PMS collection, a standardized system used for accurate specification and communication of brand and display colors across materials. This color conveys a vibe that is modern, professional, and technical, with a muted and understated presence. It is commonly selected for its cool, instructive appearance and has an authoritative, sophisticated quality.
PMS 5473 C appears quite dark; it has a low light reflectance value (LRV 9.54) and absorbs most incident light. The color is cool-leaning, showing clear blue-green cues with a gentle teal influence. Saturation is moderate; the chroma level is evident but not aggressively vivid, maintaining visual restraint. The undertone is a balanced mix of blue and green, displaying neither outright teal nor aqua, but a deep, slightly aquatic impression. The appearance of PMS 5473 C can vary with finish: in matte applications the color may look more muted, while gloss finishes can enhance the richness and depth.
PMS 5473 C performs well in visual branding environments requiring a modern or understated technical effect, such as signage, brand displays, and environmental graphics. For best color fidelity, always evaluate painted samples in the intended lighting conditions and finish. This color’s low reflectance and muted chroma may cause it to appear nearly black or heavily shadowed in dim or indirect lighting, so it is important to confirm legibility and visual impact at project scale. When compared to other dark blue-green PMS colors, PMS 5473 C presents less vibrancy but more subtlety, making it suitable where visual restraint is prioritized over boldness.

Matching PMS 5473 C paint to the Pantone standard is a specialized process. Even though MyPerfectColor uses precision formulation to target the PMS 5473 C color, factors such as substrate, finish, and lighting can all affect final appearance. The Pantone PMS code serves as a color communication standard rather than a formula, so paint results may appear slightly different from how the color looks in a printed Pantone guide. For best results, review a physical sample under your actual project lighting before finalizing your decision, especially for brand-facing installations where visual exactness is critical.
To maintain consistent color and finish when applying PMS 5473 C over large surfaces, use products from the same batch and apply in controlled conditions. Plan for ample coverage, as darker blue-green colors with moderate saturation like PMS 5473 C may require multiple coats for full opacity and color depth. Use consistent application techniques and avoid spot repairs or touch-ups, since these can show up as color shifts. Evaluate finish and lighting effects on a test panel before full project execution.
PMS 5473 C is commonly specified for prototypes and concept models where alignment with brand colors is vital. MyPerfectColor offers this shade in a range of formats including spray paint and brush-in-cap bottles, making it practical to test on various materials. Before production, assess a painted sample to confirm finish, color alignment, and lighting impact to ensure your prototype communicates the intended brand effect.
To order PMS 5473 C paint, start by selecting the desired product format such as spray paint, paint pen, or brush-in-cap bottle. Next, choose the appropriate finish and quantity for your project needs. Confirm all details before adding the item to your cart. Review application tips and project requirements to ensure the selected option fits your intended use. If you are managing brand displays or prototypes, consider ordering a sample first to verify appearance.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 5473 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
