Pantone™ PMS 5463 C

PMS 5463 C is often specified as a brand color target for signage, displays, and exhibit elements where color consistency matters between components, vendors, or materials. When working with PMS 5463 C in fabrication, treat the Pantone code as a visual reference standard. Since this deep blue-green is sensitive to finish and lighting, it is important to sample the color on your actual substrate and confirm appearance under typical installation lighting before full production. This helps ensure the color meets brand expectations and avoids surprises in the finished environment.

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for paint matched to PMS 5463 C depends on the type of paint or product you select, not just the Pantone color code. To find the correct SDS, identify the specific paint product you are ordering and look for the SDS library provided on the product detail page. If you need help locating it, contact customer support with your order details and product type.

For repeat orders of PMS 5463 C, use the same paint type and sheen as your previous batch for the best consistency. Always approve color against the same physical standard, such as a Pantone swatch or a retained painted sample. Factors like finish (gloss, matte) and substrate can impact the perceived color. Minor differences may occur between batches, so sample each new batch before large-scale application if the project requires a critical color match.

When specifying PMS 5463 C for your project, choose the paint type based on whether the finished items will be used indoors or outdoors. For interior applications, select a paint formulated for indoor use. For items exposed to sun, rain, or harsh conditions, choose an exterior-grade paint for better durability. Always confirm that the product meets your installation and performance needs, and review samples to verify the appearance in the intended environment.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
