PMS 512 C is a Pantone PMS system color, known for its rich and assertive visual presence with a distinctly modern and bold character. This color is characterized by a very low light reflectance (LRV 6.65), strong chromatic strength, and a cool, saturated purple hue. It is commonly described as vivid, technical, contemporary, purposeful, and corporate. The PMS system designates this color for use where precise color communication and repeatable visual results are critical, typically in branding and professional display contexts.

- PMS 512 C appears very dark due to its low LRV of 6.65. - The color is cool in tendency, with a pronounced purple hue. - This color displays high saturation, resulting in vivid appearance. - PMS 512 C shows a noticeable blue undertone, especially under daylight or cool lighting. - The color may appear deeper and more intense in matte finishes, while gloss can slightly amplify its vibrancy.

- PMS 512 C is often used in professional branding scenarios requiring a bold, memorable accent color. - The color is specified for retail displays, event signage, and branded environments seeking a contemporary visual impact.

PMS 512 C performs well when a dramatic, saturated purple is required for brand visibility and environmental graphics. As a dark and highly chromatic color, it can be sensitive to variations in substrate and lighting, causing shifts in perceived depth or undertone. Careful surface preparation is recommended to ensure uniform coverage, as darker, more vivid colors may reveal application inconsistencies. It is important to evaluate PMS 512 C in the intended finish and lighting conditions for critical brand or display applications, as it may behave differently than lighter or less saturated purples.

This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

- The following examples reflect commonly cited branding associations and are based on publicly referenced design usage; they are illustrative, not exhaustive or exclusive. - PMS 512 C is widely cited in branding resources as a corporate accent color for financial, retail, and technology companies aiming for a bold and modern identity. - The color is commonly referenced in exhibit and display manufacturing literature for applications such as signage and event environments seeking strong visual differentiation.

PMS 512 C is a Pantone Matching System color specified to achieve consistent visual branding across different marketing, display, and environment contexts. By referencing PMS 512 C, teams and vendors can communicate a precise color target regardless of material or production process. This helps create unified, recognizable brand experiences across printed graphics, painted surfaces, and fabricated elements. To achieve the intended effect, evaluate PMS 512 C using both a physical Pantone standard and paint samples in the actual lighting and finish where they will be seen.

What is the typical lead time to produce paint matched to Pantone PMS 512 C?

Paint matched to Pantone PMS 512 C is made to order to ensure accuracy and fresh materials. Lead time depends on the specific product format you choose, such as spray paint, paint pens, or other formats, and on current production demand. Most orders ship within a few business days, but larger or specialty orders may require additional time. Plan your branding, marketing, or display project schedules with these factors in mind to ensure timely delivery.

Will changing the finish or sheen of PMS 512 C paint affect how the color appears?

Yes, the finish you choose for PMS 512 C can significantly change how the color looks in a branded display or environment. Matte finishes tend to make PMS 512 C appear deeper and more subdued, while glossy finishes can make it look more vivid and slightly lighter. This is due to how light interacts with the surface. For critical brand projects, always compare samples in the intended finish and lighting conditions to confirm the appearance meets your expectations.

What product formats are available for ordering Pantone PMS 512 C paint?

Pantone PMS 512 C can be ordered as custom spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and select liquid paint types suitable for branding and marketing applications. Choose the format that best matches your application method and substrate needs. Custom spray paint is commonly used for displays and signage. Can I use the Pantone PMS 512 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
