PMS 513 C is a Pantone PMS System color recognized for its striking, saturated purple appearance with a distinctly cool yet energetic vibe. This color is impactful, expressive, and modern, often perceived as bold and technical. With a low LRV of 10.09, PMS 513 C delivers a deep presence, making it suitable for settings prioritizing strong color identity.
PMS 513 C displays a notably deep and dark value, as indicated by its low LRV (10.09). The color tends toward a cool, blue-leaning purple, with a clear magenta undertone. PMS 513 C shows high saturation and vividness, creating a vibrant appearance in most lighting. The cool undertone can give a slightly bluish perception, especially under daylight-balanced or cool white lighting. This color is sensitive to finish; gloss or satin finishes can amplify its intensity and depth, while matte finishes may reduce vibrancy.
PMS 513 C is frequently specified for brand-facing graphics, trade show displays, and environmental branding where precise Pantone matching is required. This color is often chosen for elements that must remain visually consistent across multiple materials and surfaces in branded environments.
PMS 513 C performs strongly when used for visual brand elements, displays, and installations where a saturated, cool purple is required. For optimal results, ensure surfaces are properly primed to enhance color uniformity, as vivid purples may have lower hiding power, sometimes requiring multiple coats. Be attentive to lighting—cool light sources will emphasize the blue-magenta character, while warm lights can mute vibrancy. Surface finish will also impact perception; higher-gloss options deepen the color’s visual impact. As with all Pantone PMS colors, physical samples should be reviewed for final approval in the intended environment before production use.

To ensure you receive the correct color, always specify the full Pantone code PMS 513 C when ordering. The code identifies a precise color standard, while names alone can sometimes cause confusion. Make sure to include any suffix, such as 'C' for coated, since Pantone offers the same number in different finishes. Double-check your brand guidelines or specification sheets to confirm the exact code before submitting your order. This helps avoid mismatches and ensures a consistent visual result.
For large areas using PMS 513 C, prepare the substrate thoroughly and prime if necessary, as saturated purples like this may have lower hiding power. Apply multiple thin, even coats rather than a single thick coat to prevent patchiness. Use the same application technique and finish sheen across the entire surface. It is critical to allow proper drying between coats. Maintain consistent lighting during application, since lighting can affect your perception of coverage and color. For the most consistent results, consider sampling a small area first and reviewing the appearance under realistic lighting conditions before full production.
Pantone books provide a reference standard for PMS 513 C, printed on specific substrates with a defined finish. The painted color may appear differently depending on the surface, sheen, and lighting. Exact appearance can vary, especially with saturated colors and different gloss levels. To reduce match risk, sample PMS 513 C on the intended substrate and evaluate under project lighting before committing to large-scale use. Always review the physical result for approval rather than relying solely on swatch book comparisons.

Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 513 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
