PMS 411 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, widely used for standardized color communication in branding, marketing, and design environments. The color presents a serious, earthy, technical, and subdued visual mood. PMS 411 C is valued in professional settings for its grounded and neutral feel, supporting applications where a robust but not overwhelming presence is needed.
PMS 411 C displays a distinctly dark appearance, with a low LRV of 9.01. The color has a subtle warm tendency, leaning toward a brown-olive hue. Saturation is moderate to low, resulting in a muted quality. The undertone is earthy, with soft brown and gray influences. PMS 411 C is generally stable across matte and satin finishes; gloss finishes may enhance any greenish undertone.
PMS 411 C works well where a visually stable and muted color is needed to support brand reliability or sophistication. For best results, preview samples under the actual lighting conditions of the final installation, as low-light environments may cause the color to appear even deeper. Surface preparation should ensure a smooth application, particularly on lighter substrates, to maintain color uniformity. Compared to similar colors, PMS 411 C maintains a notably neutral warmth and controlled darkness, without drifting into higher chroma or cooler territory.
Similar colors:
PMS 412 C – Similar but distinctly darker and more charcoal in tone.
PMS 410 C – Lighter and grayer, with a softer, less saturated appearance.
PMS 424 C – Noticeably lighter and cooler, exhibiting more gray and less earthiness.

The way Pantone PMS 411 C is perceived depends heavily on lighting and surrounding conditions. This dark, earthy brown may look deeper or slightly different depending on whether it is viewed under fluorescent, LED, natural, or mixed lighting. Because color can shift visibly under different light sources, it is important to sample PMS 411 C in the actual environment where it will be used. This step is key for brand consistency, especially if the installation area is in a retail, event, or branded space with unique lighting. Always review a painted sample of PMS 411 C under your intended lighting before final production to avoid unexpected shifts and color mismatches.
When painting plastics or surfaces with low surface energy with Pantone PMS 411 C, adhesion can be a challenge. Different plastics respond differently to paint, and some require specific primers or surface treatments to achieve good adhesion and a consistent finish. Before committing to production, always test PMS 411 C paint on the actual plastic you plan to use. This test confirms compatibility and helps avoid adhesion failures or unexpected appearance changes. Following manufacturer recommendations for preparation and using proven primers for plastics can help ensure a successful, brand-consistent result.
For pop-ups and retail environments, Pantone PMS 411 C should be evaluated both for durability and color appearance before installation. The dark, muted tone of PMS 411 C may appear even deeper in low-light conditions, so sample panels should be reviewed on site using the final intended lighting. Consider substrate preparation and the finish type, as matte or satin sheens will generally stay closest to the intended appearance. Always preview color and application samples to confirm visual impact and durability meet your brand's standards before large-scale rollout. This approach helps you avoid color acceptance issues and supports brand consistency in high-visibility locations.
Achieving a consistent PMS 411 C finish on metal or powder-coated surfaces requires good surface preparation. Any existing gloss or coating can affect both adhesion and final color appearance. Scuff-sand and thoroughly clean the surface to promote uniform coverage and minimize color shifts. If coating over a powdercoat, note that the underlying sheen may alter how the dark, earthy tone of PMS 411 C looks under certain lighting. Always test PMS 411 C on a sample part and review the result in your installed setting before scaling up, to ensure the final appearance aligns with brand expectations.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 411 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
