PMS 346 C is a Pantone Matching System standard color recognized for its clean, crisp hue with a light-to-mid range appearance. The color gives a contemporary and energetic impression, combining qualities such as clarity, technical precision, vibrancy, and a distinctive coolness. It is frequently used in brand identity systems and applications where standardized, consistent color reproduction is required.

PMS 346 C appears noticeably light, with a published LRV of 46.7. The color presents a distinctly cool tendency within the green spectrum. PMS 346 C has a moderately high saturation, resulting in perceptible vividness without excessive boldness. The undertone displays a soft blue influence, reinforcing its cool chromatic character. The color's brightness and chroma can appear more intense in glossy finishes and under direct lighting, making finish selection impactful in final perception.

PMS 346 C works well when a clean, memorable green with a contemporary feel is needed for branded displays, marketing environments, or manufactured components. Evaluate finish options and lighting conditions to ensure the color maintains its intended vibrancy and chromatic balance. This color is less likely to appear muted or dull compared to less saturated greens, but substantial shifts in gloss or illumination can elevate or reduce its visual impact compared to adjacent colors. Sampling in the actual environment is strongly advised to confirm appearance.

Similar colors:
PMS 347 C: Slightly darker and more chromatic, providing a deeper, more saturated green impression.

PMS 339 C: Lighter and showing a more pronounced blue undertone, resulting in a fresher and cooler appearance.

PMS 354 C: Slightly warmer and somewhat more vivid, giving a lively and energetic feel relative to PMS 346 C.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 346 C

How do I use PMS 346 C for prototyping or concept models that must visually align with Pantone brand standards?

PMS 346 C can be used during prototyping or concept model stages to preview brand color outcomes on actual materials. For best results, choose a paint format such as spray paint, paint pen, or brush-in-cap bottle matched to PMS 346 C and apply it on your intended substrate. Evaluate the color under the same lighting conditions expected in the final use. It is important to test the finish and coverage before committing to large orders, as gloss and substrate texture can change the perceived appearance of PMS 346 C. Sampling with actual parts ensures alignment with brand requirements and avoids surprises during full-scale production.

What steps should I follow to order paint matched to PMS 346 C on MyPerfectColor?

To order paint matched to PMS 346 C, first select the desired paint format such as spray paint, paint pen, or brush-in-cap bottle. Next, specify the sheen and quantity needed for your project. It is important to confirm your substrate and application method before placing the order to ensure compatibility. Double check that you have selected PMS 346 C and not a similar Pantone color. Ordering a small quantity for evaluation is recommended if you have not used this match before. This reduces the risk of ordering a large amount of product that may not meet expectations for brand color accuracy or appearance on your material.

How does the texture of my substrate affect the appearance of PMS 346 C?

The perceived color of PMS 346 C can change with the texture of the substrate. Smooth, glossy surfaces tend to make PMS 346 C appear brighter and more vivid, while matte or textured surfaces may diffuse light and make the color look lighter or less saturated. If your application involves products or displays with variable surfaces, it is wise to sample PMS 346 C on the actual substrate to evaluate the result before final production. This helps you plan for visual consistency in brand-facing applications and reduces surprises due to texture effects.

Why should I sample PMS 346 C before approving it for a brand environment or display?

Sampling PMS 346 C before full rollout allows you to check color accuracy and finish under your actual lighting and on your real substrate. This step is especially important when brand approval or visual consistency is required for displays, signage, or branded environments. Pantone colors can shift depending on gloss and substrate, so a small sample reduces the chance of mismatch. Review the sample in the installation setting, and involve decision-makers early to avoid costly changes or rework once production starts.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 346 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 346 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 346 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
