Pantone™ PMS 307 C

Pantone PMS 307 C is part of the Pantone Matching System and does not have an exact equivalent in other paint company collections. Most paint brands have their own unique palettes, and vivid Pantone colors like PMS 307 C may not be reproducible with the same depth and chroma in other systems. For the best match and to maintain brand consistency, it is important to order paint made specifically to the PMS 307 C target rather than relying on cross-references or substitutes.

The choice between matte and gloss for PMS 307 C depends on how you want the color to be perceived and where it will be used. Gloss finishes will make PMS 307 C appear more vivid and saturated and deliver a high-impact look, but they can also introduce glare and reflections under strong lighting or from certain viewing angles. Matte finishes reduce glare and reflections and may make the color look even deeper, but colors can read slightly less vibrant. For applications viewed up close or under direct lights, matte may avoid unwanted reflections. For displays seeking maximum color punch from a distance, gloss can enhance the saturated blue impression. Always assess how the finish will look under your specific lighting conditions.

Avoid mixing product lines or finishes, as differences can impact the perceived color and visual effect. For best brand alignment, use the same approval workflow or reference chips each time, and evaluate samples under lighting conditions similar to your final installation. This approach helps minimize noticeable color shifts that can occur between batches or with changes in substrate or finish.

For best coverage and an even finish when using spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 307 C, apply multiple thin coats rather than a single heavy coat. Allow each layer to dry or flash between applications as specified by the paint instructions. This method reduces the risk of runs and builds the color intensity needed for saturated hues like PMS 307 C. Proper technique helps maintain the intended depth and clarity of the blue while ensuring uniform appearance across the surface.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
