Pantone™ PMS 276 C

The color PMS 276 C in a Pantone book sets the reference standard for the target appearance, but the final look of PMS 276 C paint is influenced by the specific finish (such as gloss or matte), the substrate, and the lighting. A Pantone book typically shows color as printed ink on coated paper. Paint applied to real materials may differ in gloss, depth, and undertone. Always compare a physical paint sample of PMS 276 C, made on your actual material and finish, against your Pantone book under the lighting where the project will be viewed before final approval or production.

PMS 276 C can be ordered in paint types formulated for either interior or exterior use. For indoor spaces or brand displays not exposed to weather, select an interior paint or a paint designed for controlled environments. For outdoor projects or anything exposed to sun, rain, or fluctuating temperatures, choose exterior-grade paint for better durability. Indicate your project environment when ordering so you receive a finish appropriate for your intended use. Always evaluate PMS 276 C on a sample panel first to confirm color and appearance in the context it will be used.

The appearance of PMS 276 C paint can shift noticeably under different lighting conditions. Because this color is very dark with a cool purple base, it may look almost black in dim or yellow-toned lighting, and its blue undertone may become more noticeable under cooler, white-balanced light. Always test a sample of PMS 276 C in the lighting conditions where it will be displayed to ensure the color meets your expectations for brand consistency and visual impact.

For large-area applications of PMS 276 C, plan for consistent surface prep and application technique. This color is very dark, so any surface imperfections or uneven coverage may be more visible. Apply an appropriate primer, use the same type of roller or sprayer throughout, and maintain a wet edge to avoid lap marks. When possible, batch your paint to ensure consistency, and review the area from multiple angles and under different lighting after each coat to catch any inconsistencies early.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
