PMS 275 C from the Pantone Matching System is a very dark, saturated blue-violet commonly described as rich, authoritative, and distinctly cool. With a notably low light reflectance value (LRV 1.26), this color conveys depth and formality. In professional contexts, PMS 275 C is selected where a strong, stable, and visually striking color is needed for branding and environmental graphics.
PMS 275 C presents as very dark and nearly opaque due to its low light reflectance. The color has a distinctly cool temperature, reading as blue-violet. Its saturation is strong, contributing to a vivid and bold appearance despite its depth. The undertone is a pronounced cool violet, which can read as both blue and purple depending on adjacent colors and finish. This color can shift perceptibly in different lighting; under warm light, it may appear slightly more purple, while under cool or daylight, blue tones are enhanced. Its depth makes sheen and finish selection highly visible—glossy finishes can create unexpected reflections, while matte minimizes visible shifts.
PMS 275 C performs best where designers require a dramatic, cool, and deeply colored statement in branding, displays, or environmental elements. Because of its darkness and strong chromaticity, even slight gloss or surface imperfections become apparent, so careful surface preparation and finish choice are recommended. In side-by-side applications with other deep blues or violets, PMS 275 C will frequently appear cooler and more saturated, maintaining its impact but potentially emphasizing its undertone shift under varied lighting.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

To accurately compare PMS 275 C paint samples for approval, use the physical Pantone sample as your standard. Ensure you view both samples under consistent lighting conditions, ideally using daylight or the lighting that will be used in the final environment. Apply the paint to the same type of substrate and finish as the intended project, and allow all coatings to fully dry and cure before evaluating. Small differences in sheen, surface texture, or lighting can strongly affect how dark and saturated PMS 275 C appears, so a consistent setup is essential for reliable comparison and approval.
PMS 275 C is available as custom spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and other paint formats for branding and display applications. For large or smooth surfaces, spray paint provides an even, professional finish. Paint pens and brush-in-cap bottles are well suited for mockups, models, or detailed component work. Always select a product format based on your project needs, scale, and the surface to be coated. Consider finish (gloss, satin, matte) and surface preparation as PMS 275 C's depth and saturation can emphasize imperfections or surface reflections, especially in glossy sheens.
Pantone colors like PMS 275 C are standardized to ensure brand consistency across materials and vendors. MyPerfectColor is authorized to reproduce Pantone PMS colors as accurately as possible in paint. Using a licensed reproduction helps ensure your finished result aligns with brand guidelines and the Pantone standard, which is critical for marketing, branding, and display projects. Always confirm that your paint supplier is authorized to match Pantone colors before ordering for brand-facing applications.
Shipping transit time for PMS 275 C paint depends on your location, the specific paint format ordered, and the shipping method selected at checkout. Custom-matched colors may require additional production time before shipping. If your project has a tight deadline, plan ahead and allow extra time for both order fulfillment and transit. Selecting faster shipping at checkout can reduce transit delays, but does not affect the production timeframe needed to mix and prepare your PMS 275 C order.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
