PMS 2727 C from the Pantone PMS system is a bold, mid-tone blue with a contemporary and vibrant appearance. It is recognized for its clean, energetic vibe and is often perceived as dynamic, approachable, and technical. The color is featured in settings where clear visual communication and identity consistency are critical.
PMS 2727 C appears as a mid-value blue, with a moderate degree of lightness (LRV: 18.42). The color has a cool undertone, due to its blue base and subtle hint of violet. The color demonstrates high chroma, resulting in conspicuous saturation and pronounced vividness. PMS 2727 C shows a slight purplish cast, especially noticeable under cool or natural lighting. This color's appearance can shift with gloss and finish, looking brighter and more intense in a full-gloss application and more subdued in matte or eggshell finishes.
PMS 2727 C is often used in environments where strong brand distinction and immediate visual recognition are priorities.
PMS 2727 C works well in projects requiring a striking, modern blue that stands out without overwhelming adjacent colors. It is especially valuable for branding, environmental graphics, displays, and prototypes where digital and printed materials must align visually. Users should verify appearance under the actual lighting and finish conditions, as the high chroma and cool undertone can change perceived intensity. Compared to other blues in the Pantone system, PMS 2727 C sits squarely between lighter, less saturated options and deeper, more muted variants, making it suitable for visually assertive but balanced design implementations.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

When using PMS 2727 C in pop-up or retail environments, consider durability, lighting, and finish selection to ensure the color performs as intended. High-traffic areas and temporary installations require coatings suitable for the level of use anticipated. Evaluate the color with a physical paint sample under the installed lighting because PMS 2727 C's vibrant blue can change appearance depending on both gloss and ambient light. Sampling on actual surfaces before full-scale production helps confirm that the hue and finish meet brand expectations and will hold up throughout the event or display period.
If you need to apply PMS 2727 C to plastics or low-surface-energy materials, first determine the type of plastic. Many plastics do not allow standard paints to bond well and may require a specialty primer or adhesion promoter designed for that substrate. Always test PMS 2727 C paint on a sample of the actual plastic before starting production. This confirms compatibility and that brand color expectations are met on the intended material.
Pantone books are the reference standard for evaluating PMS 2727 C. However, the appearance of PMS 2727 C paint can differ from the Pantone book due to variations in finish, substrate, and lighting. Glossy finishes appear more vivid, while matte finishes look softer and less saturated. For critical brand applications, compare a painted sample directly to a physical Pantone guide under the lighting and on the substrate where it will be used. Sampling is the best way to manage expectations for color consistency in real-world conditions.
A sampling step is strongly advised for PMS 2727 C when the project is high-visibility, intended for brand approval, or requires consistency across many surfaces or under variable lighting. Sampling is also recommended for larger installations, permanent environments, or when working with a new substrate. This process allows you to confirm that PMS 2727 C meets brand standards and appears as intended in its final context, reducing the risk of costly errors or brand inconsistency.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2727 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
