PMS 2718 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, widely recognized within brand identity, display manufacturing, and marketing environments. The color presents as intense, technical, and eye-catching, with a character that is both graphic and modern. It has a pronounced blue-violet hue, medium-dark appearance, and is frequently used where a bold and memorable visual impact is required.

- PMS 2718 C appears as a medium-dark blue-violet with notable intensity. - The color leans toward a cool tendency due to its strong blue-violet hue. - PMS 2718 C is highly saturated, giving it a bright, vivid appearance. - The undertone is distinctly violet, contributing to its pronounced coolness and crisp visual character. - The light reflectance value (LRV) of 21.05 indicates relatively low reflectivity, and this color may deepen further in lower lighting conditions. - Finish selection can impact the perceived saturation and vibrancy; gloss and satin finishes will enhance brightness, while matte finishes may mute some of the vibrancy.

PMS 2718 C is often selected for projects requiring a strong, bold blue-violet—particularly in environments where high visibility or modern styling is prioritized. For consistent results, users should view this color in both the intended lighting and selected finish, as lower light or matte surfaces can cause the color to appear deeper and less saturated. Compared to other similar PMS blues, PMS 2718 C delivers a uniquely electric and cool impression, making it a practical choice where differentiation from navy or ultramarine blues is important. Achieving uniform coverage may require multiple coats, especially over light substrates.

- The following examples reflect commonly cited branding associations and are based on publicly referenced design usage; they are illustrative, not exhaustive or exclusive. - PMS 2718 C is widely cited as a key brand color in various sports, event branding, and athletic wear applications where vivid blue-violet tones are desired. - This color is frequently referenced in experiential marketing and temporary brand activations seeking a strong, modern blue-violet impression.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2718 C

Does PMS 2718 C require extra coats to achieve full coverage?

PMS 2718 C is a highly saturated blue-violet color, and like many vivid Pantone shades, it may require additional coats to achieve uniform coverage, especially over lighter substrates. Plan for extra material and application time to ensure consistent, brand-accurate results. Testing on your specific surface is recommended before full-scale application.

How does sheen affect the appearance of PMS 2718 C in branding or display projects?

The sheen you select for PMS 2718 C will significantly influence how the color looks in your application. Gloss and satin finishes tend to enhance the brightness and vibrancy of this blue-violet, giving a bolder effect. Matte finishes can make PMS 2718 C appear deeper and less saturated. Choose sheen based on viewing distance, intended visual impact, and substrate type rather than decorative preference.

Can PMS 2718 C be directly converted to a color from other paint brands?

PMS 2718 C is a Pantone Matching System color and does not have a reliable direct equivalent in most other paint collections. Cross-referencing vivid Pantone colors like PMS 2718 C to other paint brands can result in visible color differences or lower accuracy. For brand and marketing use, always specify PMS 2718 C as the target and order a Pantone-matched product rather than a presumed paint brand equivalent.

What product formats are available for PMS 2718 C, and how should I choose?

PMS 2718 C is available as custom spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and other formats suitable for branding and display applications. Select the format that matches your project needs. Spray paint is typically chosen for larger surfaces and signage, while paint pens and brush-in-cap bottles are useful for small details or prototypes. Each format is mixed to match the PMS 2718 C standard for visual consistency in brand and marketing use.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2718 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2718 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2718 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 2718 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2718 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
