PMS 2705 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, a global color-matching standard frequently used for brand and marketing asset specification. This color provides a subdued, cool, and approachable vibe with understated softness, offering a visually stable appearance well-suited for professional presentation. Its moderate lightness and calm blue-lavender character support use in settings where a gentle, non-intrusive branding color is needed.
PMS 2705 C is visually classified as a light-to-mid tone with a measured LRV of 36.63, resulting in modest but noticeable presence in applied settings. The color displays a distinctly cool character, with a lavender blue hue dominated by blue with subtle purple inclination. The saturation is moderate, appearing neither intensely vivid nor washed out. The undertone is soft blue-violet, exhibiting quiet sophistication without evident warmth. This color can be somewhat sensitive to changes in finish, with matte surfaces rendering it softer and glossier finishes amplifying its blue and lavender content.
PMS 2705 C performs well as a specification color when a calm and distinctive blue-lavender tone is required, particularly for brand environments, displays, prototype components, and visual merchandising. It offers enough visibility to stand out without being overbearing, making it practical for supportive rather than dominant brand accents. Lighting conditions strongly affect the perceived undertone; cooler light emphasizes the blue aspect, while warmer lighting may make the color read slightly more violet. Attentive substrate priming and consistent finish choice are recommended, as this moderately saturated hue may require additional coats for full, uniform coverage, especially over dark or highly textured materials.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

PMS 2705 C is a Pantone PMS standard color often used for brand and display applications. Matching PMS 2705 C requires converting the standard into a paint formula, which poses challenges because finishes, substrates, and lighting can all affect the perceived color. While MyPerfectColor specializes in producing visually accurate matches to Pantone standards, factors such as finish selection and application conditions may create small but perceptible differences. For the best result, compare a physical paint sample to an official Pantone reference in your intended setting before committing to a large order. This is especially important for high-visibility or approval-based projects.
One standard aerosol spray can of PMS 2705 C typically covers approximately 20 to 25 square feet per coat on a smooth, primed surface. Actual coverage may be less on rough, dark, or textured substrates, or when multiple coats are needed for uniform color. PMS 2705 C is moderately saturated and may require additional coats for true opacity, particularly over contrasting backgrounds. To estimate the quantity needed, measure the project area, multiply by the number of coats required for your application, and consider ordering slightly extra to allow for test spray-outs and touch-up of application errors.
PMS 2705 C is frequently cited in brand literature as a supportive accent color for marketing assets, especially in technology and healthcare organizations favoring gentle, approachable palettes. It appears commonly in tertiary branding for displays, print materials, and wayfinding elements when a soft, blue-lavender tone is required. This prevalence in brand and display use demonstrates its suitability for visually stable, non-intrusive branding environments. Always confirm with your brand guidelines before specification.
Using a primer is recommended for PMS 2705 C whenever you are coating bare, dark, or highly textured surfaces. Priming ensures better adhesion, a uniform appearance, and helps achieve the correct color with fewer coats, especially for moderately saturated colors like PMS 2705 C. If painting over an existing light, sound paint layer, a primer may not be required, but testing is advised. Review product instructions and substrate condition to determine the best approach for your project.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2705 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
