PMS 2635 C from the Pantone PMS collection is a light, cool purple with moderate saturation and a technical, measured appearance. Frequently described as clean, airy, and visibly clear, this color suits modern, understated branding needs. The Pantone PMS system ensures accurate and repeatable color, crucial for consistent brand specification and visual identity across various industries.

PMS 2635 C appears light in value (LRV 46.7), providing good mid-tone reflectance. It has a cool undertone near the blue-violet range on the color wheel. The hue is moderately saturated, offering chroma without being intensely bold. Its icy violet undertone avoids warmth and red bias. The finish selection can influence its look: gloss enhances vibrancy while matte brings out softness.

This color is best specified for clear, light, contemporary purple accents in branded environments, promotional materials, displays, or prototypes. For best results, review the final appearance under the chosen lighting and finish, as these factors impact vibrancy and temperature. Uniform surface preparation is important to prevent inconsistencies, especially given this color's lighter, cooler nature. Relative to similar purples, PMS 2635 C offers higher clarity, less red influence, and a technical, approachable style.

Similar colors:

PMS 265 C – Deeper and more saturated, with a stronger chromatic presence.

PMS 271 C – Cooler and a bit bluer, delivering a fresher, less violet tone.

PMS 2562 C – Warmer and pinker, shifting the undertone toward a lilac influence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2635 C

What should I consider when using Pantone PMS 2635 C in a retail pop-up or brand activation environment?

When specifying Pantone PMS 2635 C for pop-ups or retail installations, review durability requirements for your application and the surface type. Lighter colors like PMS 2635 C may show inconsistencies if surfaces are not properly prepared. Always test the color under the exact lighting conditions and finish that will be used in the installation, since lighting and gloss level can noticeably affect the perceived color. Sampling before large-scale application is recommended for approval and to confirm satisfaction with color appearance and coverage.

How can I use a sample of PMS 2635 C for brand approval before a large production run?

For brand approval workflows, order a small sample of PMS 2635 C in the same product type and finish you intend to use for the final installation. Apply the sample to the actual substrate and evaluate it under the lighting conditions present in the space. Confirm appearance and coverage meet brand expectations before proceeding with larger orders to reduce the risk of mismatch or rework.

What does it mean to order paint matched to Pantone PMS 2635 C?

Ordering paint matched to Pantone PMS 2635 C means you are requesting a visual match to the PMS 2635 C color standard. The Pantone PMS code defines a visual color reference and ensures color consistency in brand communication. It does not specify a particular paint formula, coating technology, or sheen. Actual color appearance may differ based on substrate, finish, and lighting, so it is important to review samples as part of your process.

Where do I find the SDS for paint made in PMS 2635 C?

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for paint in PMS 2635 C depends on the specific paint type and formulation, not the color code. Access the SDS library or request the SDS for your chosen product format, such as spray paint or urethane, before ordering or using the product.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2635 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2635 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 2635 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How much area will one spray can cover? And what is Pantone PMS 2635 C spray paint made of?

MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. Do I need a primer for Pantone PMS 2635 C?
The need for primer for Pantone PMS 2635 C depends on the type of paint, the substrate being painted and where it will be located. See our Primer Selection Table to see what primer you might need and learn more about when you might need a primer. Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 2635 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2635 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
