Pantone™ PMS 2612 C

The appearance of PMS 2612 C can shift noticeably under different lighting conditions. This color, being a dark and saturated purple, may appear more muted or deeper in low-light environments, and brighter or more vibrant under strong, cool-white lighting. To ensure brand consistency, always evaluate PMS 2612 C with both a Pantone reference and a physical paint sample in the actual lighting where the finished display or component will be viewed. This approach helps minimize surprises and allows any needed adjustments before full-scale application.

For PMS 2612 C spray paint, one standard aerosol can typically covers about 20 to 25 square feet with light, even coats. However, since PMS 2612 C is a highly saturated and dark purple, achieving solid, uniform coverage often requires multiple coats, especially on lighter or more porous surfaces. Always plan for extra product to account for additional coats and surface differences. For best results, test coverage on your actual substrate before committing to a large application.

The Pantone book is a reference standard for PMS 2612 C, but the appearance of paint in this color can differ due to the surface, material, and chosen finish (such as gloss or matte). Expect some visual variations compared to the paper sample in the Pantone book. For critical projects, always confirm the match by comparing a physical paint sample applied to your actual material in the intended finish and lighting conditions. This helps ensure alignment with brand expectations before proceeding with production.

For PMS 2612 C, it is best to apply several light coats of spray paint instead of a single heavy coat. Allow each layer to dry or 'flash' before applying the next. This approach reduces the risk of streaking and unevenness that can occur with highly saturated, dark colors like PMS 2612 C. Careful, gradual application leads to a smoother, more consistent brand appearance, especially on flat or high-visibility surfaces commonly used in displays and branded environments.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
