PMS 2607 C is part of the Pantone PMS system, which is widely used for market-facing branding, display fabrication, and industrial design projects requiring standardized colors. The color is distinctly modern, technical, assertive, and bold, with a low reflectance value contributing to its visual depth. PMS 2607 C supports environments where dramatic contrast and memorable color identity are operational requirements.

PMS 2607 C appears very dark, with a low light reflectance value (LRV 2.99). The color shows a cool tendency, being a purple with blue-violet bias. PMS 2607 C is highly saturated, emphasizing vividness and intensity. The undertone is predominantly cool, leaning towards blue beneath the purple main note. The color’s perceived depth can vary significantly with finish and lighting, with gloss finishes appearing more intense and matte finishes more muted.

PMS 2607 C is well suited for use cases demanding strong, brand-consistent purples and settings where a visually assertive color is required. The color’s depth and saturation make it effective for logos, signage, or display components designed to stand out, especially in environments with sufficient lighting to reveal its vibrancy. Users should be aware that highly saturated and dark purples can require multiple coats for uniform coverage, and variations in finish or lighting may alter perceived color. Surface preparation should be thorough to prevent uneven color due to the intensity and depth of the hue. Compared to other similar purples, PMS 2607 C reads cooler and more chromatic, with a deeper, almost blue-based visual balance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 2607 C

Can I order PMS 2607 C in another paint brand's formula for the same color result?

No, PMS 2607 C is a Pantone Matching System color standard and does not directly convert to other paint brands' color collections. Each paint brand creates its own palette, and vivid Pantone colors like PMS 2607 C are especially difficult to match exactly. If accurate, brand-consistent color is the goal, always specify and order using the Pantone code and a supplier that matches to that standard, not by trying to cross-reference to another brand's catalog color.

What surface prep is recommended before applying PMS 2607 C paint or spray paint?

For best results with PMS 2607 C, start with a clean, dry, and degreased surface. Remove dust and contaminants using a lint-free cloth and mild cleaner. Light scuff sanding helps on glossy or slick surfaces to improve adhesion. Always wipe the area again after sanding, and test a small section before full application. Proper prep supports both coverage and consistent appearance for this deep, saturated purple.

How many coats of PMS 2607 C spray paint should I plan for, and what is the best way to apply it?

PMS 2607 C is a highly saturated, dark purple that may require multiple light coats for uniform coverage and full color depth. Apply several thin, even coats rather than one heavy coat, allowing proper drying time between coats as recommended on the product label. This approach reduces the risk of runs and uneven appearance, especially with intense Pantone hues like PMS 2607 C.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 2607 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 2607 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 2607 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 2607 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2607 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
