PMS 1935 C is a standardized color from the Pantone PMS system, widely used for branding, marketing, and industrial design applications. The color presents a vibrant, professional, and bold character, with a controlled warmth and visually assertive presence that suits environments and projects requiring strong, branded reds.

PMS 1935 C exhibits a distinctly deep and strong red appearance. The color is moderately dark, with a measured light reflectance value (LRV) of 13.84. This color presents a warm undertone, subtly leaning towards the yellow side of red. The saturation is high, contributing to its vivid and intense look. PMS 1935 C can appear somewhat richer or deeper in glossier finishes and may shift in perceived depth under different lighting.

PMS 1935 C is often used in corporate identity systems for high-impact logos, signage, and branded displays where a specific, saturated red is required. The color is frequently specified for marketing activations, retail environments, and brand experiences focusing on bold red elements.

PMS 1935 C is operationally suited for any project or fabrication requiring a color-accurate, saturated red that maintains brand consistency. Due to its high chroma and relatively low LRV, care should be taken with surface preparation and primer selection to achieve uniform coverage and to minimize the risk of undertone shifts. Lighting conditions and selected finish will significantly affect the perceived depth and intensity. When selecting among similar red tones, PMS 1935 C provides a richer and more visually commanding effect compared to less chromatic options.

Similar colors:
PMS 186 C: Slightly lighter and less saturated, giving a less intense presence.

PMS 200 C: Slightly deeper and less vivid, resulting in a more muted appearance.

PMS 485 C: Noticeably lighter and warmer, providing a brighter, more orange-leaning red.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 1935 C

What should I know about the durability of PMS 1935 C spray paint for marketing and display use?

The durability of PMS 1935 C spray paint is affected by the type of surface, how well the surface is prepared, whether a topcoat is used, and the specific environmental conditions. For displays and branded installations, ensure surfaces are clean and properly primed for best adhesion and color consistency. Choose your paint type based on whether the project will be indoors or exposed outdoors. In high-traffic or exterior situations, adding a compatible clear topcoat can improve longevity and help the color remain visually consistent under variable conditions.

Can I use PMS 1935 C spray paint for touch-up applications or should I send a part for exact matching?

PMS 1935 C is a standard brand color reference and is intended for new fabrication, displays, and marketing environments where brand color accuracy is key. If you require an exact match for an existing item already coated or painted, sending a physical part for custom matching is the preferred approach. This is because small variations in previous coatings, materials, or finishes can affect color appearance, and Pantone codes are not intended for precise touch-up or repair use.

Why can PMS 1935 C look different on various materials or surfaces?

PMS 1935 C may appear different when applied to multiple substrates due to absorption rates, surface texture, and reflectivity. Materials such as metal, plastic, and wood can all impact how the color is perceived, especially for highly chromatic reds like this one. For branded displays or builds using more than one type of material, it is best to evaluate a sample of PMS 1935 C on each surface type under actual lighting to confirm that the visual result meets expectations.

How do I choose the right PMS 1935 C paint for interior versus exterior display applications?

When selecting PMS 1935 C paint, consider the environment where the painted item will be installed. For interior projects, standard indoor paint types will provide good color consistency and durability. For outdoor or high-exposure uses, opt for paint specifically formulated for exterior conditions, as these will help resist fading and wear caused by sunlight, moisture, or temperature changes. Confirm that the paint format you order is designed for the intended level of exposure and specify your desired finish for consistent brand appearance.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 1935 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 1935 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 1935 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How much area will one spray can cover? And what is Pantone PMS 1935 C spray paint made of?

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 1935 C. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

Do I need a primer for Pantone PMS 1935 C?
The need for primer for Pantone PMS 1935 C depends on the type of paint, the substrate being painted and where it will be located. See our Primer Selection Table to see what primer you might need and learn more about when you might need a primer. Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 1935 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 1935 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
