Pantone™ PMS 183 C

PMS 183 C can appear different depending on the surface it is applied to because substrate properties like texture, absorbency, and reflectivity influence how the color is perceived. For example, PMS 183 C may look more vibrant on a glossy surface and softer on matte materials. Highly absorbent or textured substrates can reduce the impact of the color or cause uneven appearance, especially with a saturated or light color like PMS 183 C. To achieve the desired brand consistency, always evaluate the color on the same material and finish intended for final use before full production.

PMS 183 C is available in several paint formats to support brand, display, and marketing projects. Common options include custom spray paint, paint pens, brush-in-cap bottles, and coatings such as epoxy or urethane, as well as interior or exterior housepaint. Choosing the right format depends on your application method, substrate, and durability needs. For broad surface coverage and uniform finish, custom spray paint is often used. Paint pens and bottles are suitable for smaller areas or detail work. Consider your project scale and the intended final appearance when selecting the format.

PMS 183 C is a Pantone PMS color standard and does not have a reliable direct conversion to colors from other paint brands. Most paint manufacturers maintain their own unique color palettes, and cross-referencing to Pantone, especially for vivid pinks like PMS 183 C, is almost never exact. For brand consistency, always specify PMS 183 C explicitly and do not substitute from other collections unless exactness is not critical for your project.

Colors like PMS 183 C tend to be light and moderately saturated, which can reduce coverage or 'hide' compared to deeper colors. Multiple coats may be needed to achieve full, even color, especially over dark or contrasting surfaces. Using a compatible undercoat or a primer in a similar shade can help improve coverage uniformity and reduce the number of finish coats required. Plan your process accordingly to ensure brand visual standards are met across your project.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
