PMS 1655 C is part of the Pantone PMS (Pantone Matching System) collection, widely recognized in marketing, retail, and industrial design for its standardized color accuracy. This color is energetic, bold, and attention-grabbing, with a distinctly bright and saturated character. The overall vibe is modern, assertive, and clean, making it suitable for dynamic brand expressions and high-visibility messaging.
PMS 1655 C appears distinctly bright with a strong visual presence. The color is moderately dark, with a measured light reflectance value (LRV) of 28.12. PMS 1655 C has a warm character due to its pronounced orange hue and yellow-red undertone. The color exhibits very high saturation, resulting in a vivid and uncompromising appearance. Undertones remain consistently warm even under varying lighting conditions. PMS 1655 C may be sensitive to finish selection, with higher-gloss finishes further intensifying its vibrancy.
PMS 1655 C is frequently associated with high-visibility branding elements, such as logos and retail fixtures. The color is commonly specified for point-of-sale displays that require rapid recognition. PMS 1655 C is often chosen for wayfinding, signage, and promotional installations where standout color is operationally critical. The color is referenced in sports, beverage, and entertainment brand palettes, particularly where a distinctive orange is desired.
PMS 1655 C is an effective choice when visual impact and brand recognition are priorities, especially in contexts demanding immediate attention or differentiation from surrounding colors. It performs reliably under a range of lighting conditions, but users should account for variations in perceived vibrancy based on gloss level and substrate. For applications on darker or highly absorbent materials, additional coats may be needed to achieve visual consistency and coverage. Its high chromatic intensity makes it less forgiving of surface imperfections compared to more muted oranges.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

PMS 1655 C paint is formulated to match the Pantone Matching System standard as seen in a Pantone book, but paint appearance can vary based on sheen, substrate, and application method. Pantone books use printed ink swatches under specific gloss and lighting conditions, while paint may look different on real materials. For critical projects, always compare your paint sample next to your Pantone reference under the actual lighting and finish conditions before full production.
Ordering a standard Pantone PMS 1655 C match is appropriate when your priority is brand-facing displays, signage, exhibit components, prototypes, or marketing installations where the Pantone color is the primary visual target. This approach is ideal for visual brand alignment in marketing and demonstration contexts, rather than for material-specific or long-term architectural use where manufacturer approval or custom sampling may be required.
No, the appearance of PMS 1655 C can change significantly depending on the lighting environment. Different light sources, such as daylight, fluorescent, or LED, can shift the warmth, vibrancy, and overall color perception. Always evaluate PMS 1655 C paint samples in the exact lighting where the final project will be viewed to ensure the color matches your expectations for brand presentation.
Sampling PMS 1655 C is recommended for high-visibility brand projects, large displays, or permanent installations where brand approval is required. Sampling also helps for projects where the substrate, gloss level, or specific lighting could change the color appearance, or when visual consistency must be confirmed across multiple materials. Testing a sample first reduces risk of costly rework or approval issues.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
