PMS 113 C is a Pantone Matching System (PMS) color from the Pantone PMS collection. Visually, PMS 113 C is a light, vivid yellow with a distinctly clean, energetic, and attention-grabbing presence. The color has a fresh and modern vibe suitable for brand-forward environments, retail displays, and high-visibility communication materials requiring clear and consistent color reproduction.

PMS 113 C is a light color, with a high LRV indicating strong reflectance and brightness. The color is warm in tendency, presenting clear yellow overtones. PMS 113 C shows high saturation, resulting in a lively, chromatic appearance. The undertone is pure yellow with a slight green note that may become more noticeable under certain lighting. This color’s vividness and lightness are sensitive to both finish and lighting; gloss finishes may increase perceived vibrancy, while matte finishes can slightly mute the chroma.

PMS 113 C works well where a clean, bright, and energetic yellow is required, especially in brand applications that call for immediate visual impact. When specifying this color, carefully consider lighting conditions, as it can shift slightly toward green under cool lighting. Finish selection impacts color perception; higher-gloss finishes may intensify brightness and saturation, while flatter finishes can appear more subdued. As is typical for vivid yellows, coverage over dark substrates may require additional coats or a suitable primer for uniformity. When evaluating PMS 113 C, always assess physical samples in the actual lighting and finish of the intended environment.

Similar colors:
PMS 114 C: Slightly lighter and cooler, with a more pronounced greenish shift.

PMS 115 C: Lighter and less saturated, resulting in a softer yellow appearance.

PMS 109 C: Deeper and stronger, with a richer, more golden yellow character.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 113 C

How can I ensure consistent results when reordering PMS 113 C paint for multiple branding projects?

For the most consistent results with PMS 113 C, always specify the same product type and sheen when reordering. Variations in format or finish can cause noticeable differences in how this light, vivid yellow appears, especially in environments where brand accuracy is critical. Use the same Pantone reference (PMS 113 C) for every order and evaluate samples in the intended lighting and substrate conditions. For critical projects, keep a retained sample or use a pre-approved control standard for future approvals to reduce the risk of unexpected differences between production runs.

What is the typical coverage of a spray paint can of PMS 113 C and how do I estimate quantity for my project?

A typical 11 ounce spray can of PMS 113 C covers about 20 square feet per coat under ideal conditions on a smooth, primed surface. However, vivid yellows like PMS 113 C often require extra coats for full opacity, especially over dark or uneven substrates. To estimate your needs, calculate the total area to paint and assume 2 to 3 coats for best uniformity. Factor in surface texture and any absorbency, which can increase paint usage. For precise requirements, ordering an extra can as a reserve is a practical approach for brand applications.

Why is it important to use licensed and authorized PMS 113 C paint for brand and display work?

PMS 113 C is a Pantone standard color, and using licensed, authorized reproduction ensures your brand color is matched to the correct Pantone reference. MyPerfectColor is authorized to produce PMS 113 C in paint, providing an accurate color target for visual brand consistency. Unauthorized or generic matches may not conform precisely to Pantone standards, increasing the risk of color deviations in professional or brand-sensitive environments.

What surface preparation steps are recommended before painting with PMS 113 C for displays or branded items?

Proper surface prep helps PMS 113 C achieve its intended vibrancy and consistency. Start by cleaning surfaces to remove dust, grease, or oils. Lightly scuff glossy or smooth surfaces to improve adhesion. Make sure the substrate is dry and free from residues. Test spot in an inconspicuous area to verify adhesion and color appearance, especially on non-standard materials. For dark or uneven surfaces, a white or light-colored primer may improve coverage and reduce the number of coats needed for uniform color.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 113 C?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 113 C depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. Can I use the Pantone PMS 113 C for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 113 C to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 113 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
