PMS 109 C, part of the Pantone PMS System / collection, is a vivid, saturated yellow with a perceptible brightness and strong color presence. Its vibe is energetic, contemporary, high-visibility, assertive, and unmistakably warm. As a standardized Pantone color widely recognized in corporate and branding environments, it provides a uniform specification target for visual communications requiring strong color consistency across a range of materials and production methods.
PMS 109 C appears bright and high in lightness, with an LRV of 67.99. The color reads as distinctly warm due to its yellow base and slight golden undertone. It is highly saturated, which enhances its vibrancy and impact in both small and large applications. This color exhibits no intentional neutral or muted undertones; it is bold and clear. PMS 109 C may display some finish sensitivity; gloss and high-sheen finishes can increase perceived intensity, while matte finishes may subdue its vibrancy.
PMS 109 C is often used in brand identity and signage projects that demand immediate visibility and recognition. The color is specified for event displays, exhibit graphics, and marketing installations where high attention value is operationally required.
PMS 109 C is operationally effective in applications where intense visibility is prioritized, such as marketing environments, retail displays, and brand activations. Due to its high chroma and bright appearance, uniform coverage may require careful surface preparation and potentially multiple coats, especially over dark substrates. It can appear more vivid in direct lighting and more subdued under diffuse or low light. When matching with other saturated yellows, PMS 109 C will generally appear stronger and more luminous, and it sustains its visual energy better on smooth or glossy surfaces.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Yes. PMS 109 C is a highly saturated and vivid yellow, which often means it has less hiding power than less intense colors. For most applications, you should expect to apply more than one coat to achieve uniform and consistent color coverage, especially when painting over dark or uneven surfaces. Proper surface priming and preparation will help minimize visible substrate show-through. This is especially important for brand and display projects where consistency with Pantone standards is essential.
If you need PMS 109 C paint for a time-sensitive brand or marketing project, expedited production is available as an option during checkout. For urgent deadlines, contact MyPerfectColor before placing your order to confirm current lead times and ensure the fastest possible turnaround. This helps meet critical schedule requirements for brand-facing applications.
The most reliable way to specify your color is to use the full Pantone code, in this case 'PMS 109 C'. Pantone codes are standardized to ensure you are targeting the correct reference color, regardless of similar yellow options nearby in the system. Always include the exact code, and any finish or series suffix required by your specification, to avoid misorders that could impact brand consistency in your project.
The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for PMS 109 C will be based on the product type (such as spray paint, urethane, or housepaint) and not the color itself. To find the correct SDS, select the specific paint format you are ordering and visit the SDS library on the MyPerfectColor website. If you have questions, contact MyPerfectColor and provide the product type along with PMS 109 C as your color reference.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 109 C in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
