PMS 7494 U is a Pantone PMS color used in brand and display contexts that call for a softened, natural green. Its yellow-green character reads organic and calm, supporting visual systems that avoid sharp contrast or high chroma.

The color has a mid-range lightness with an LRV of 40.76 and a slightly warm tendency. Its low to moderate saturation and subtle yellow undertone give it a restrained appearance that remains visually stable across finishes.

PMS 7494 U performs well in applications where an understated green is needed, especially in environments sensitive to glare or visual fatigue. Testing on the actual substrate and under installed lighting can help confirm uniform appearance and color perception.

Similar colors:

PMS 7493 U: lighter and slightly brighter, with a more open yellow-green appearance.
PMS 7495 U: darker and more grounded, with increased visual weight and reduced openness.
PMS 577 U: more neutral and grayer, with less yellow influence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7494 U

What does PMS 7494 U represent when used for brand experiences?

PMS 7494 U is a Pantone Matching System color used as a visual reference to communicate a specific brand color target. It is not a paint formula or finish specification. When you order a PMS 7494 U match, the goal is to visually align with the Pantone standard so displays, signage, and brand elements appear consistent across different vendors and materials.

Because PMS colors are a communication standard, appearance should be evaluated on the actual substrate and under expected lighting when brand approval or consistency is critical.

How can I maintain uniform coverage when applying PMS 7494 U over large areas?

When applying PMS 7494 U across large surfaces, plan for even, consistent application. Use uniform spray technique, overlap passes consistently, and allow proper flash time between coats.

Pantone colors can require additional coats to achieve even hide, especially on large panels or displays. Applying test panels first helps confirm coverage and appearance before committing to the full project.

Will PMS 7494 U look different if I change the finish or sheen?

Yes. PMS 7494 U can appear noticeably different when applied in different sheens, even if the color target is the same. Higher gloss finishes tend to look brighter and more saturated, while matte finishes can appear softer or lighter.

Because Pantone references are visual standards, always compare samples with the same finish you plan to use for the final application to avoid surprises.

What should I consider when applying PMS 7494 U to metal or powder-coated surfaces?

When applying PMS 7494 U to metal or existing powder-coated parts, surface preparation matters. Clean and properly scuff the surface to promote adhesion and even appearance.

Existing coatings, substrate color, and gloss level can influence how the Pantone match is perceived. For brand-facing components, it is recommended to evaluate a sample on the actual substrate before full production.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7494 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7494 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. Can I use the Pantone PMS 7494 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

How do I convert PMS 7494 U to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7494 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information.
