PMS 577 U is a Pantone PMS color specified as a soft, yellow-influenced green with a subdued, utilitarian character. It reads as earthy, calm, understated, functional, and stable, making it suitable for brand systems that favor restraint over brightness.
The color presents a mid-light appearance with an LRV of 53.23 and leans warm due to its yellow-green bias. It shows moderate saturation with an olive undertone that reduces sharpness and can appear flatter in very matte finishes.
PMS 577 U works well in brand-facing displays, signage, and fabricated elements where a natural green tone is needed without strong visual intensity. A uniform primer can help maintain consistency, and warmer lighting will emphasize its olive character compared to cooler or brighter greens.
Similar colors:
PMS 575 U: lighter and softer, with a more subdued green presence.
PMS 576 U: darker and heavier, with increased olive depth.
PMS 578 U: slightly more yellow and warmer, with reduced green clarity.

Yes. PMS 577 U is often used on prototypes and concept models when the goal is visual alignment to a Pantone brand standard rather than long-term durability. Pantone PMS codes define a color target, not a material or finish, so the match should be evaluated on the actual substrate used in the prototype.
For review workflows, it is recommended to produce a sample or test piece and assess PMS 577 U under the same lighting and viewing conditions expected during presentations or approvals.
For reliable results, surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or oils before applying PMS 577 U matched paint. Light scuffing may be appropriate on smooth or glossy substrates to promote adhesion, followed by removal of sanding residue.
Because substrates vary, applying a small test area first helps confirm adhesion, coverage, and visual appearance before completing the full application.
PMS 577 U is a Pantone licensed color standard. Licensed reproduction ensures the color is matched to the official Pantone reference rather than an estimated or visually similar green.
MyPerfectColor is authorized to reproduce Pantone PMS colors in paint, which helps reduce the risk of visible color deviation when PMS 577 U is used in brand-facing displays, prototypes, or marketing installations.
PMS 577 U is available as custom spray paint and other paint formats for branding and display applications. Common options include spray paint for even coverage on complex shapes, paint pens for controlled detail work, and brush-in-cap bottles for small areas or samples.
The best format depends on the size of the part, surface complexity, and the level of finish control needed. For larger or high-visibility pieces, producing a sample first helps confirm that the selected format meets visual expectations.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 577 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 577 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
