Pantone™ PMS 7467 U

Yes. PMS 7467 U is a Pantone color target, not a finish specification. Changing sheen can noticeably affect how the color is perceived even when the underlying color match is the same.

Higher gloss finishes tend to make PMS 7467 U appear darker and more saturated, while matte or low-sheen finishes can look lighter or flatter. This is due to how light reflects off the surface, not because the color target changed.

For brand-critical applications, evaluate PMS 7467 U samples in the actual finish you plan to use. Comparing a matte sample to a gloss sample can make it appear as if the colors do not match, even when they do.

Plastics vary widely, and some low-surface-energy materials may not accept paint well without proper preparation. While PMS 7467 U can be color matched into paint, adhesion depends on the specific plastic.

Many plastics require a dedicated adhesion-promoting primer before applying a Pantone matched topcoat. Without this step, the paint may not bond reliably.

Before committing to production, test PMS 7467 U on the actual plastic substrate using the full coating system you plan to use. This helps confirm both adhesion and final color appearance.

Surface texture has a direct impact on how PMS 7467 U is perceived. Smooth surfaces reflect light more evenly, while textured surfaces create shadows and scatter light.

On a textured substrate, PMS 7467 U may appear darker, less saturated, or slightly uneven compared to a smooth panel. This is a visual effect caused by texture, not a mismatch in the color target.

If visual accuracy is critical, review PMS 7467 U on the same texture and substrate that will be used in the final application.

Coverage varies by application, but a standard spray can of PMS 7467 U typically covers about 8 to 12 square feet per coat under normal conditions.

Actual coverage depends on surface texture, porosity, spray technique, and the number of coats required. Highly saturated Pantone colors like PMS 7467 U may need additional coats to achieve uniform hide.

For planning purposes, assume multiple coats and order extra material for testing and consistency, especially on textured or absorbent surfaces.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
