PMS 7468 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a standardized visual reference across branding and display applications. It presents as a dark, saturated blue with a cool, composed character that reads technical, corporate, and contemporary rather than decorative.
The color appears dark with a low Light Reflectance Value of 13.85. It leans cool with a clear blue bias, shows moderate-to-high saturation, and includes a subtle gray undertone that tempers brightness.
PMS 7468 U works well where a stable, brand-forward blue is needed on signage, fabricated elements, or display components. Because it is dark and relatively saturated, coverage may require additional coats, and consistent surface preparation can help maintain even depth under varied lighting.
This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.
Similar colors:
PMS 7469 U: darker and slightly more neutral, with reduced blue clarity.
PMS 7470 U: deeper and heavier, with more visual weight and less openness.
PMS 7690 U: lighter and less saturated, with a softer blue appearance.

Pantone PMS 7468 U is a standardized brand color reference used when organizations need consistent visual reproduction across signs, displays, prototypes, and marketing environments. Rather than being tied to a single material or finish, the PMS code defines the color target so different vendors can align to the same visual intent. When ordering paint for PMS 7468 U, the goal is brand-facing accuracy for displays, exhibits, or concept models, not material-specific repair matching.
The choice between matte and gloss for PMS 7468 U affects how the color is perceived. Gloss finishes tend to make colors appear deeper and more saturated, which can increase visual impact under controlled lighting. Matte finishes reduce glare and reflections, which can be helpful in bright or uneven lighting but may make the color appear slightly flatter. Consider viewing distance, lighting conditions, and brand standards when selecting the finish.
Pantone PMS 7468 U is the full color identifier and should be used exactly as shown when ordering. The number defines the specific color, and the U suffix indicates the uncoated Pantone reference. Pantone color names are not descriptive labels but precise communication standards, so omitting or changing any part of the code can result in a different color target.
When applying PMS 7468 U across larger surfaces, plan for consistent coverage to maintain uniform appearance. Saturated Pantone colors can require additional coats to achieve even hide, especially on contrasting substrates. Use a consistent application method, maintain steady overlap between passes, and evaluate the color under the actual lighting where it will be displayed before final approval.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7468 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
