PMS 7466 U is a Pantone PMS color specified as a balanced blue-cyan tone commonly referenced in brand and display contexts. It presents a clean, modern, controlled look with a confident, technical, and contemporary vibe.
The color has a medium lightness with an LRV of 31.6 and reads as distinctly cool with a cyan lean. It is moderately to highly saturated, with a subtle green-cyan undertone that keeps the color crisp rather than neutral.
PMS 7466 U works well in brand-facing displays, signage, and fabricated elements where consistent blue clarity is important. As a saturated cool color, it may benefit from a light or neutral primer to support even coverage, and additional coats can help achieve uniformity.
Finish and lighting can shift its perceived intensity, so reviewing a physical sample under installed conditions can help confirm expectations.
Similar colors:
PMS 7465 U: lighter and slightly more open, with reduced visual weight.
PMS 7467 U: darker and deeper, with increased blue density.
PMS 300 U: more vivid and bluer, with less cyan influence.

PMS 7466 U is a Pantone color reference, so the correct approach is to evaluate a physical paint sample before committing to a full retail or pop-up installation. Lighting conditions in retail environments can significantly change how the color is perceived, especially under LED or mixed lighting. Apply a sample to the actual substrate, view it on site, and confirm approval under installed lighting. For high-visibility brand experiences, sampling helps reduce the risk of surprises once the space is built out.
When applying a PMS 7466 U paint match to metal or previously powder-coated parts, surface preparation is critical. Existing coatings, gloss level, and surface texture can all affect how the final color appears. Scuffing and proper cleaning are typically required to promote adhesion and consistent appearance. Because Pantone colors can shift based on substrate and sheen, testing a sample on the actual prepared surface is strongly recommended before producing finished parts.
Yes. PMS 7466 U specifies a particular Pantone reference, and the suffix is part of that identifier. Pantone codes are communication standards, not paint formulas, so ordering the exact code listed in your brand guidelines is important. Before ordering, confirm that PMS 7466 U is the correct reference specified in your documentation and that it matches the intended series or context required for your project.
A standard PMS 7466 U match is appropriate when the Pantone PMS reference is the defined color target, such as for brand-facing displays, exhibits, pop-ups, signage, or prototype builds. This approach works well when visual brand accuracy is the primary goal rather than matching an existing painted surface. For large or permanent installations, it is still best practice to approve a physical sample to confirm appearance on the chosen material and under expected lighting.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 7466 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7466 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
