PMS 7465 U is part of the Pantone Matching System and is commonly specified as a brand and identity color. It presents a balanced blue-green character with a composed, technical, and contemporary feel suited to marketing and display environments.

The color exhibits a mid-range lightness with an LRV of 42.2. It reads as cool, with a blue-led hue, moderate-to-high saturation, and a clean blue-green undertone that remains stable under neutral lighting.

PMS 7465 U works well for signage, display components, and branded environments where clarity and consistency matter more than decorative warmth. It may benefit from a uniform primer and multiple thin coats, and testing under installed lighting can help confirm the final appearance.

Similar colors:

PMS 7466 U: darker and slightly deeper, with more visual weight and reduced openness.
PMS 7464 U: lighter and cleaner, with a more open and airy appearance.
PMS 7473 U: more green-leaning and slightly more muted in overall saturation.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7465 U

What does the 'U' mean in Pantone PMS 7465 U, and why does it matter when ordering?

In Pantone PMS 7465 U, the 'U' indicates the uncoated Pantone reference. Pantone codes can include suffixes like U or C that define the reference condition used to specify the color. This matters because Pantone PMS is a communication standard, not a paint formula. Before ordering PMS 7465 U, confirm that your brand guidelines or project documentation specifically call for the uncoated reference so the color target matches what stakeholders expect.

When is ordering a standard Pantone PMS 7465 U paint match appropriate?

A standard Pantone PMS 7465 U match is appropriate when the Pantone reference itself is the approved color target. Common cases include brand-facing displays, signage, exhibits, prototypes, and marketing installations where visual alignment to the Pantone standard is the goal. In these situations, PMS 7465 U provides a shared reference that helps keep branding consistent across vendors and materials.

Why can Pantone PMS 7465 U look different on different materials or surfaces?

Pantone PMS 7465 U can appear different depending on the substrate because materials vary in texture, absorption, and reflectivity. The Pantone code defines a color target, but the final appearance is influenced by the surface it is applied to, the finish or sheen, and lighting conditions. For multi-material projects, it is recommended to evaluate PMS 7465 U on the actual materials used in the final build to confirm visual acceptance.

How should I plan shipping and transit time when ordering Pantone PMS 7465 U paint?

Shipping and transit time for Pantone PMS 7465 U paint depend on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout. Because Pantone matched paints are custom produced, it is important to factor in both production time and transit time when planning around deadlines. If your project has a fixed installation or launch date, ordering early helps reduce scheduling risk.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7465 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 7465 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 7465 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
