Pantone™ PMS 7420 U

Pantone PMS 7420 U is a visual color target, not a fixed paint formula. To keep results consistent across repeat orders, use the same paint type, sheen, and application method each time. Changing from spray paint to a different format, or changing sheen, can shift how the color is perceived even if the Pantone reference stays the same.

For brand-critical work, keep an approved physical sample from the first run and evaluate future orders against that same reference under similar lighting. This approach helps manage normal batch-to-batch variation and avoids surprises when projects are produced at different times.

Start by selecting the paint format that fits your application, such as spray paint or another available option. Next, choose the sheen carefully, since sheen has a direct impact on how Pantone PMS 7420 U will look once applied.

Confirm your quantity and review all selections before checkout. Because Pantone colors are matched visually, accuracy depends on ordering the correct product type and finish the first time. If the project is brand-critical or large scale, consider ordering a sample to approve before committing to full production.

Pantone PMS 7420 U is commonly used for brand-facing elements in pop-ups, retail displays, and marketing installations where visual color alignment is important. Durability needs depend on the paint type you choose, so select a product appropriate for the expected handling and exposure.

Lighting can significantly affect how this color appears in a retail environment. Always evaluate a sample of PMS 7420 U under the actual installed lighting and on the intended substrate before full rollout, especially for high-visibility brand surfaces.

Sheen choice directly affects how Pantone PMS 7420 U is perceived. Higher sheens reflect more light, which can make the color appear brighter and more saturated, while lower sheens can appear deeper or more muted.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
