Pantone™ PMS 7404 U

Pantone PMS 7404 U is a standardized brand color reference, not a paint formula. Brands use it to communicate a specific color target so logos, displays, and environments look consistent across vendors and materials.

When you order paint matched to PMS 7404 U, the goal is visual alignment to the Pantone reference for brand-facing applications like signage, exhibits, and marketing installations. The color code defines the intended appearance, while the paint product and finish determine how that color is produced on a given surface.

The Safety Data Sheet is not tied to the Pantone PMS 7404 U color itself. SDS documents are specific to the paint product and chemistry you select, such as spray paint, epoxy, or urethane.

After choosing the product type for your PMS 7404 U order, you can find the correct SDS in the SDS library for that product. Always reference the SDS for the exact paint type you are using, not the color code.

Pantone PMS 7404 U is a bright, saturated brand color, which can be more challenging to match than muted tones. Differences in substrate, finish, film thickness, and lighting can all affect how closely the painted result appears to the Pantone reference.

MyPerfectColor specializes in producing accurate visual matches to Pantone PMS colors, but it is important to understand that the Pantone standard is a printed reference. Final appearance should be evaluated in the actual finish and lighting conditions used in your project.

Pantone PMS 7404 U is intended for brand color reproduction, not for touch-up or repair matching. If you need paint to visually blend with an existing coated part at close range, the most reliable approach is to send a physical sample for matching.

Ordering by the Pantone code alone is best when the Pantone reference is the target, such as for new brand-facing components. For critical, close-view matching to an existing surface, a sample-based match provides better control over appearance.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 7404 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
