Pantone™ PMS 9182 U

PMS 9182 U is a Pantone PMS reference color used to communicate an exact brand color target. It defines the intended visual appearance so different vendors and materials can aim for the same color outcome.

It is not a paint formula or finish specification. When ordering PMS 9182 U paint, the goal is visual alignment to the Pantone reference to support consistent brand experiences across displays, signage, prototypes, and environments.

Pantone books are the reference standard for PMS 9182 U, but painted results will not look identical in all situations. Differences in sheen, coating thickness, and substrate can change how the color is perceived.

Use the Pantone book as the color target, then evaluate a physical paint sample of PMS 9182 U on your actual material and under your lighting. This is the most reliable way to confirm acceptance before production.

PMS 9182 U can be matched in paint for plastics, but plastics vary widely in surface energy and adhesion behavior. Many plastics require specific primers or surface preparation to achieve proper bonding.

Always test the PMS 9182 U paint system on the actual plastic before full production. This confirms adhesion, appearance, and durability for your specific material.

Sampling is strongly recommended for PMS 9182 U when the project is high-visibility, requires brand approval, or involves large installations. Lighting, substrate, and finish can all influence how the color reads.

Order and review a sample on the real surface and under installed lighting before committing to full quantities. This reduces brand risk and helps avoid rework.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
