PMS 7499 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a visual reference standard for consistent color communication across materials. The color reads as light, airy, clean, restrained, natural, and calm, with a gentle green character that stays subtle rather than vivid.

The color appears very light, with an LRV of 80.73. It leans slightly warm due to its yellow-green hue and has low to moderate saturation, resulting in a soft, muted appearance with a gentle yellow undertone.

PMS 7499 U works well in brand environments, displays, and prototypes where a light green tone is needed without visual heaviness. Because of its light value, surface preparation and primer choice can influence uniformity, especially over darker or high-contrast substrates.

This Pantone PMS color is defined by the Pantone Matching System standard. Evaluate the color using a physical Pantone reference and a real paint sample in the intended lighting and finish. Paint appearance varies by finish and lighting.

Similar colors:

PMS 7498 U: lighter and slightly more open, with a cleaner and less yellow appearance.
PMS 580 U: a bit darker and cooler, with more muted green character.
PMS 7500 U: lighter and warmer, shifting toward a creamier, near-neutral tone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 7499 U

How accurate will MyPerfectColor paint be when matching Pantone PMS 7499 U?

Pantone PMS 7499 U is a defined color standard, but translating that standard into paint involves materials, pigments, and application variables. MyPerfectColor specializes in producing visually accurate reproductions of Pantone PMS colors, including PMS 7499 U, for branding and display use.

You should expect a close visual match under typical viewing conditions, not a lab-instrument match across all substrates and lighting. Factors like sheen, film thickness, and lighting can change how PMS 7499 U is perceived, so approval samples are recommended for high-visibility or brand-critical projects.

What application approach works best for Pantone PMS 7499 U spray paint?

Pantone PMS 7499 U should be applied using multiple light coats rather than one heavy coat. Thin, even passes help control color buildup and reduce visual variation.

Allow each coat to flash and dry before applying the next. Rushing the process or applying heavy coats can affect uniformity and the final appearance of PMS 7499 U, especially on larger panels or display components.

Why does it matter that Pantone PMS 7499 U is a licensed color reproduction?

Pantone PMS colors, including PMS 7499 U, are licensed standards used for brand color communication. Authorized reproduction means the color is formulated using Pantone reference data rather than guesswork or visual approximation.

MyPerfectColor is an authorized licensee for Pantone PMS colors, which helps ensure PMS 7499 U is reproduced with the intent and consistency expected in brand, marketing, and display applications.

How should I choose a sheen for Pantone PMS 7499 U paint?

Sheen selection can change how Pantone PMS 7499 U appears once applied. Higher sheens reflect more light and can make the color look brighter or slightly different under various lighting conditions, while lower sheens reduce reflection and can appear more muted.

Choose the sheen based on viewing distance, substrate texture, and how the color will be seen in its final environment. If precise brand appearance is critical, evaluating PMS 7499 U in the selected sheen on the actual substrate before full production is recommended.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 7499 U?

Can I use the Pantone PMS 7499 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.
