Pantone™ PMS 804 U

Pantone PMS 804 U includes a series suffix that identifies the reference condition used by Pantone. The suffix matters because different series can represent the same color name with different visual targets.

Before ordering paint matched to PMS 804 U, confirm that your brand standards, artwork, or documentation specifically call for the "U" version. Ordering the wrong series can result in a visible difference, even though the base number is the same.

Pantone PMS 804 U is a vivid, highly saturated color. For best visual results, apply multiple light coats rather than one heavy coat.

Allow proper flash time between coats so each layer sets before the next is applied. This approach helps improve uniformity, reduces streaking, and supports better hide, which can be more challenging with bright Pantone colors.

The appearance of Pantone PMS 804 U can change depending on lighting type and viewing conditions. Different light sources can shift how saturated colors are perceived.

Evaluate the color under the same lighting where it will be used, such as retail, exhibit, or event lighting. This helps confirm that the visual result aligns with brand expectations in its real environment.

Pantone PMS 804 U is a brand color reference intended for visual color reproduction, not for touch-up or repair matching.

If you need touch-up-grade results where the new paint must blend into an existing surface, the best path is to send a physical part or sample for matching. Pantone matching is most appropriate when the goal is consistent brand color representation across displays, signage, or marketing elements.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
