Color summary PMS 622 U is a Pantone PMS color commonly specified for brand standards and visual systems. It conveys a restrained, clean, and contemporary impression with a soft green-gray presence.
Color characteristics The color appears light with an LRV of 60.32 and reads cool overall. Its low saturation gives it a muted, calm appearance rather than a strong chromatic statement.
Practical application This color is effective in brand environments that need subtle contrast without visual heaviness. Because lighting can influence how the green undertone is perceived, reviewing a painted sample under actual conditions can help confirm the intended look.
Similar colors:
PMS 621 U: lighter and more neutral, with less visible green character.
PMS 623 U: darker and slightly cooler, with increased gray presence.
PMS 557 U: warmer and more beige-leaning, with reduced green clarity.

Always order using the full Pantone code "PMS 622 U" rather than the name alone. The code is the exact color target within the Pantone Matching System, while names can be similar across different Pantone colors.
The "U" suffix matters because it identifies the uncoated Pantone reference. Ordering without the correct suffix can result in a different target appearance. Using the full code helps ensure everyone is matching the same Pantone standard.
When matching PMS 622 U on metal or previously powder-coated parts, surface preparation and the existing coating can affect the final color appearance. Differences in substrate color, smoothness, and gloss level can shift how the Pantone match is perceived.
Because Pantone PMS is a visual color reference and not a coating specification, it is recommended to evaluate a sample on the actual metal surface and finish before full production. This helps confirm that the color looks correct under your lighting and finish conditions.
Yes. PMS 622 U is commonly used for prototypes and concept models where visual brand alignment is the priority. Pantone PMS colors provide a clear communication target when multiple teams or vendors are involved.
For prototyping workflows, choose a paint format that fits your build process, such as spray paint for even coverage or brush-in-cap bottles for smaller components. Reviewing a physical sample as part of the concept approval step is recommended.
Sampling PMS 622 U is recommended for high-visibility brand projects, large installations, or situations where final approval is required under specific lighting. Appearance can vary based on substrate, sheen, and environment.
Reviewing a sample allows stakeholders to confirm the visual match before committing to a larger order, reducing brand risk and helping ensure the color performs as expected in its final context.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

To make spray paint matched to Pantone PMS 622 U. MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. MyPerfectColor custom spray paint enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish in any color in any sheen. It sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.
The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 622 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
