PMS 5783 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a standardized visual reference for brand and specification work. It presents a restrained yellow-green character that reads organic, calm, and functional rather than vivid or decorative.
The color exhibits a mid-range lightness with an LRV of 42.2. This color leans warm with a yellow-forward green bias and shows low-to-moderate saturation with an earthy undertone that reduces visual contrast.
PMS 5783 U works well in brand environments that require a natural or utilitarian green without strong visual dominance. Its muted saturation can help reduce glare, while careful surface preparation and consistent application can help minimize visible variation.
Similar colors:
PMS 5773 U: lighter and softer, with less yellow influence.
PMS 5777 U: slightly darker and more neutral, with reduced warmth.
PMS 5803 U: deeper and more saturated, with increased green intensity.

PMS 5783 U is a Pantone PMS color reference, not a material-specific formula. When applied to different substrates like metal, plastic, or wood, the color appearance can change due to absorption, surface texture, and reflectivity.
Smoother or more reflective materials may make PMS 5783 U appear brighter or cleaner, while porous or textured surfaces can soften or darken the color. For multi-material projects, the safest approach is to evaluate PMS 5783 U on each actual substrate used in the final build.
Yes. For projects that require brand or stakeholder approval, ordering a small sample of PMS 5783 U is strongly recommended. A sample allows you to confirm color appearance on the real substrate, with the chosen finish, and under the installed lighting.
This step helps avoid costly rework and ensures PMS 5783 U is approved visually before committing to larger quantities or final fabrication.
Yes. PMS 5783 U is commonly used as a brand color target for signage, displays, and exhibit fabrication where visual brand accuracy is required. In these contexts, the Pantone PMS reference defines the intended appearance rather than a specific paint system.
Because signs and exhibits often involve multiple materials and lighting conditions, reviewing PMS 5783 U on production substrates through sampling helps ensure consistent brand presentation.
Ordering a standard Pantone PMS match for PMS 5783 U is appropriate when the Pantone reference itself is the color target. This is common for brand-facing displays, marketing installations, exhibits, and prototypes where visual alignment to brand standards is the priority.
If the project involves large installations, strict approval workflows, or multiple substrates, confirming PMS 5783 U with a sample first is recommended to verify appearance before final production.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 5783 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
