To keep PMS 498 U looking consistent across runs, reorder the same paint format and sheen, and use the same approval reference each time.

If consistency is critical, keep a retained sample from your first approved order and compare future orders against it under the same lighting. This approach sets clear expectations and reduces surprises between batches.

PMS 498 U is a darker, saturated Pantone color, and coverage can vary by substrate and paint format. It is common for vivid or deep Pantone colors to need more than one coat to achieve uniform hide.

Using a compatible undercoat that supports even coverage can help improve uniformity and reduce the number of finish coats needed. Planning for test coverage on your actual substrate before full production is the safest way to confirm results.

The finish you choose can noticeably change how PMS 498 U is perceived. Glossier finishes often make colors appear deeper and more saturated, while matte or flat finishes can look softer or slightly muted.

Because brand perception matters, it is important to evaluate PMS 498 U in the same finish that will be used in the final application. Do not assume the color will look identical across matte, satin, and gloss even if the Pantone reference is the same.

Yes. Ordering a small sample of PMS 498 U is strongly recommended for brand approval workflows. Sampling allows you to evaluate the color on the real substrate, in the chosen finish, and under installed lighting.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
