Ordering a Pantone PMS 373 U paint match means you are requesting paint mixed to visually match the Pantone PMS 373 U color target. Pantone PMS is a standardized visual reference used to communicate brand color, not a paint formula, coating system, or finish specification.

The paint you receive is produced to align as closely as possible to the Pantone 373 U reference under standard viewing conditions. Appearance can still vary based on substrate, sheen, application method, and lighting, so the Pantone code defines the color target, not a guaranteed outcome on every surface.

Pantone PMS 373 U is not intended for exact, touch-up-grade matching to an existing painted surface. Pantone codes describe a brand color reference, not the specific aging, substrate interaction, or finish of a previously painted item.

If you need a very close visual match to an existing object, the correct path is to send a physical sample or part for matching. A Pantone-based match is best used when the goal is brand color reproduction rather than correcting or blending into an existing painted surface.

A Pantone PMS 373 U paint match is well suited for signs, displays, and exhibit components where adherence to brand standards is required. Pantone targets are commonly specified for fabricated elements to keep color consistent across vendors and materials.

Because substrate and finish influence appearance, it is often wise to review a sample applied to the actual material used in the display. This helps confirm visual alignment before full production, especially for high visibility brand elements.

Sheen has a meaningful impact on how Pantone PMS 373 U will appear once applied. Higher gloss levels tend to increase perceived brightness and saturation, while lower sheens can make the color look softer or slightly muted.

Select sheen based on viewing distance, lighting, and the type of surface being painted. For brand-facing applications, confirming the color in the chosen sheen on the actual substrate is recommended before final production.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
