Pantone™ PMS 348 U

PMS 348 U is a Pantone reference color, not a paint formula. Pantone books are printed on specific paper with a defined finish, while paint is applied to different substrates and sheens. Because of this, PMS 348 U may look different in paint than it does in the book, especially in brightness and saturation.

Finish, substrate, and lighting all affect perception. For brand-facing or high-visibility uses, it is best to order a sample and evaluate PMS 348 U on the actual material and under the intended lighting before committing to full production.

PMS 348 U is available as custom spray paint and other paint formats such as paint pens and brush-in-cap bottles. Some coating types like epoxy, urethane, or interior/exterior housepaint may also be offered depending on the application.

Spray paint is typically chosen for even coverage on displays, signage, and fabricated parts. Paint pens or brush-in-cap bottles are better for small graphics or controlled applications. Choose the format based on the size of the area, the substrate, and the level of finish control required.

PMS 348 U describes the target color only. Safety, VOC content, and handling requirements depend on the specific paint product and chemistry you select.

Always review the SDS for the exact product you order and follow the manufacturer guidelines for ventilation, protective equipment, and application. This is especially important when using spray paint or coatings applied in enclosed or indoor environments.

The finish choice can significantly change how PMS 348 U is perceived. Gloss finishes generally increase color punch and saturation, which can help the color stand out for brand and display applications. Matte finishes reduce glare but can make the color appear slightly darker or flatter.

Viewing distance and lighting matter. If PMS 348 U will be seen under strong lights or close up, matte may control reflections. For maximum visual impact at a distance, gloss is often preferred. Sampling both finishes on your actual substrate is recommended for brand approval.

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.

We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
