PMS 324 U is a Pantone PMS color specified as a light blue-green with a clean, modern character. Within the Pantone Matching System, it conveys a calm, open, and contemporary vibe that reads as fresh, friendly, and visually light.

The color appears light to mid-light in value, with an LRV of 60.32. It reads as cool and blue-green, shows moderate saturation, and carries a soft green undertone that tempers the blue influence.

PMS 324 U works well for brand-facing displays, signage, and marketing environments where a light, contemporary color is desired without strong visual weight. Coverage may benefit from a light-colored primer on darker surfaces, and finish and lighting should be reviewed with a real sample to confirm appearance.

Similar colors:
PMS 323 U: slightly darker and more muted, with reduced lightness.
PMS 325 U: lighter and more open, with a softer, airier appearance.
PMS 324 C: more saturated and slightly crisper, with increased chromatic intensity.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pantone™ PMS 324 U

Why is there no exact cross reference from Pantone PMS 324 U to other paint brand color codes?

Pantone PMS 324 U is a Pantone color standard used to communicate a visual target, not a universal paint formula. Most paint brands develop their own color palettes and chemistries, so a one-to-one conversion is rarely possible.

This is especially true for Pantone colors used in branding, where saturation and brightness can be difficult to reproduce across different binders, finishes, and substrates. A paint matched to PMS 324 U is created to visually align with the Pantone reference under typical viewing conditions, not to equal another brand's color code.

What is the typical production lead time for paint matched to Pantone PMS 324 U?

Paint matched to Pantone PMS 324 U is made to order. Production lead time depends on the paint type selected, the format requested, and current production volume.

Because Pantone matches are custom mixed, they are not pulled from pre-made inventory. Planning ahead is recommended for brand-critical schedules, especially when multiple samples or formats are needed for review or approval.

How is Pantone PMS 324 U typically used for signs, displays, and exhibit fabrication?

Pantone PMS 324 U is often specified when brand standards require consistent color across fabricated elements such as signs, displays, and exhibit components. The Pantone code serves as the visual target that fabricators and finishers work toward.

Because appearance can change based on substrate, finish, and lighting, reviewing a physical sample applied to the actual material is strongly recommended for high-visibility or client-facing installations.

Where can I find the SDS for paint made in Pantone PMS 324 U?

The Safety Data Sheet is tied to the specific paint product and chemistry, not to the Pantone PMS 324 U color itself. Once you select a paint type or format, the corresponding SDS can be found in the SDS library for that product.

If you are evaluating multiple formats, review the SDS for each product type under consideration, since safety and handling information can differ even when the color target is the same.

How quickly will I receive my paint matched to Pantone PMS 324 U?
All paint is custom-made to order. While most orders ship within 48 hours, the lead-time for paint made to match Pantone PMS 324 U depends on the type of paint needed. Interior and exterior house paints usually ship within 1 to 3 business days, while custom spray paint typically takes 3-5 business days to ship. The transit time depends on your location and the shipping method you choose. If your need is immediate, select Expedited Production during checkout. Most expedited production orders ship within 24 hours on business days. Please contact MyPerfectColor if you are concerned about a specific deadline. We do our best to make sure you get your paint on time. Learn more about paint lead times at MyPerfectColor.
Can I use the Pantone PMS 324 U for touch up?

Unfortunately, no.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

See our Primer Selection Table to see what primer you might need and learn more about when you might need a primer. Most people don't use a primer for a touch up paint application, but a primer may improve adhesion and is typically recommended for exterior applications.
How do I convert PMS 324 U to a different color from another paint company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 324 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
