Pantone™ PMS 2945 U

PMS 2945 U is a Pantone PMS color target, not a material-specific formula. When the same color is applied to different substrates, factors like surface texture, absorption, and reflectivity can change how the color is perceived.

Non-porous materials like metal or plastic often appear deeper or more saturated, while porous substrates like wood can absorb more paint and look flatter or lighter. Sheen and surface preparation also affect appearance. For brand-critical projects, evaluate PMS 2945 U on the actual materials used in the final build.

The Safety Data Sheet is tied to the specific paint product and chemistry, not the Pantone color code itself. PMS 2945 U defines the color target, but the SDS depends on whether you choose spray paint, epoxy, urethane, or another paint type.

After selecting the product format for your PMS 2945 U order, you can locate the corresponding SDS in the SDS library for that product. This ensures the safety and compliance information matches the actual coating being used.

Durability for PMS 2945 U spray paint depends on surface preparation, the paint type selected, and the environment where it will be used. Proper cleaning and priming improve adhesion and long-term performance.

Exposure to handling, abrasion, UV light, or outdoor conditions may require a more durable paint system or a compatible clear topcoat. Choose the paint type based on where and how the finished piece will be used rather than relying on the color alone.

Sampling is recommended when PMS 2945 U will be used in high-visibility brand applications, large installations, or projects requiring formal brand approval. It is especially important if the color will appear under specific lighting or across multiple materials.

Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.

The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

The 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat. Keep in mind that it is difficult to gauge how much spray you'll need as it is highly dependent on how it is applied. It is better to have too much than run short.
