PMS 2746 U is a Pantone PMS color used as a precise brand specification rather than a paint formula. It presents as a deep violet-blue with a cool, serious character, reading as bold, dense, and visually weighty in brand and display contexts.
The color is very dark, with an LRV of 2.99. This color leans cool, with a blue-forward violet tendency and a highly saturated, visually dense appearance.
This color shows a subtle indigo-violet undertone and can appear heavier and more compressed in high-gloss finishes.
PMS 2746 U works well where strong contrast, brand authority, or dramatic visual framing is required. Its low light reflectance means surface preparation and uniform film build are important, as inconsistencies and substrate variation can show through.
Compared to slightly lighter or less saturated violets, this color reads deeper and more formal, especially under cool or directional lighting.
Similar colors: PMS 275 U: slightly lighter and more open, with reduced visual density.MyPerfectColor is the official licensee of Pantone and authorized to reproduce the Pantone™ PMS 2746 U color in spray paint and other paints.

Ordering Pantone PMS 2746 U paint means you are purchasing paint mixed to visually match the Pantone PMS 2746 U color standard. Pantone PMS is a color communication system, not a paint formula, coating system, or finish specification.
The match is made to the Pantone visual reference under standard viewing conditions. Appearance can still change based on paint type, sheen, substrate, and lighting. Because of this, a Pantone PMS 2746 U match should be evaluated visually for your specific application rather than assumed to be identical across all materials and environments.
Sampling Pantone PMS 2746 U is recommended for large or high-visibility brand installations, projects that require formal brand approval, or applications where lighting and substrate may affect appearance.
If PMS 2746 U will be applied across multiple materials or viewed under specific retail or exhibit lighting, sampling allows you to confirm color appearance before committing to full production. This helps reduce risk when brand accuracy and visual consistency are critical.
Pantone PMS 2746 U is a highly saturated color, and colors in this range can have lower hide than neutral or muted shades. This means additional coats may be required to achieve uniform coverage and full color depth.
Underlying surface color, primer choice, and application method all affect the final appearance. Planning for proper surface preparation and sufficient coating thickness helps ensure PMS 2746 U looks consistent and visually solid.
Pantone PMS 2746 U can be matched into paints suitable for plastics, but plastics vary widely in surface energy and adhesion characteristics. Some plastics require specific primers or surface treatments for proper adhesion.
Testing the PMS 2746 U paint system on the actual plastic substrate before production is strongly recommended. This confirms both adhesion and color appearance before committing to a full application.
Unfortunately, no.
Some manufacturers specify Pantone colors as touch up for their products, but Pantone does not work well as a proxy for a touch-up solution (for a litany of reasons such as it doesn't include sheen and Pantone color tolerances are not tight enough for touch up). When we match Pantone colors we are matching to a swatch in a Pantone book - not to your product.
The only way we can provide a touch-up solution for your product is for you send us a part. We would use the part to create a touch-up grade match. Unfortunately, there isn't an effective way to 'spec' the color well enough to produce a touch up without the part.

While MyPerfectColor can provide PMS 2746 U in paint, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, especially for a color collection like Pantone which is designed for bright colors and inks.
